I had most of the interior out due to speaker replacement and the leather installation - and saw these strange plates under both rear seat cushions. Does anyone know what are they for?

Does anyone know what are they for? JaySpec7 01-31-2004, 01:40 AM Looks like the fuel pump cover to me... Jeff_pap31s 01-31-2004, 01:42 AM DUH? Tamas 01-31-2004, 01:42 AM On both sides? Are there two fuel pumps then? Hm... fxdsconv2000 01-31-2004, 01:50 AM If there are wires going to both, one might be the fuel pump and the other the fuel sending unit for the gauge. Tamas 01-31-2004, 01:51 AM Yes, there are wires going to both... thanks, that's possible. 93rdcurrent 01-31-2004, 02:04 AM Usually the fuel pump and sending wires are the same. It seems from other posts that I've read that the car as a high capacity for fuel output with what seem to be large injectors. If the capacity is high then maybe there are two fuel pumps. I bet Canzoomer would know for sure since he has been working on the fuel system. Knerk 01-31-2004, 02:21 AM might be the 2nd genration airbag system? The ones the pick up on the weight & size of the passenger. 93rdcurrent 01-31-2004, 03:10 AM Is that the one for the special ejector seats in the rear. Sensors that detect weight for better boost trajectory out the suicide (I mean "freelance") doors. LOL. jtimbck2 01-31-2004, 08:44 AM This has been discussed before. Those are covers to the fuel pumps (yes, there are two due to the odd "saddlebag" shape of the fuel tank). twig 01-31-2004, 11:02 AM Fuel Pump Covers....that's reality. I like the "special ejector seats"!!! |
