Due to the overwhelming interest in getting rid of the factory air box tray.
You know the one that collects all the dirt and rocks under your new shiny Turbo or CAI install. The one that's a pain in the A$$ to clean.

Well here ya go. BHR's new Airbox Undertray replacement.

Satin Black

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g307/Easy_E1/BHR%20Airbox/Shortairboxtray022510005.jpg

Polished

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g307/Easy_E1/BHR%20Airbox/Shortairboxtray022510001.jpg

Satin Black $125.00 including shipping
Polished $175.00 including shipping

This will be on the BHR website in the next couple of days. But I thought I would give you all a preview here first.

The BHR Airbox Undertray uses the factory mounting rubber grommets/sleeves/bolts/nuts.
I'm looking at adding a mounting kit with new parts to the order if people would like that. Additional charge for the new mounting kit.
If not just use the stock mounting parts from the factory airbox undertray.

A lot of people saw it at the SoCal Dyno Day last weekend. As a matter of fact Jedi has one on his car with a new Piano Black AEM.

Easy: glad you threw up a thread for this new offering.
My initial thoughts: Welds are gorgeous, the paint finish is incredible and it's JUST what an intake like the AEM needs. (which I finally switched over to)

I have some pics, not sure how great they are but let me see what I can find.

Does that replace all of the airbox components? or just the top portion?

I may not be making sense here - there are three plastic pieces to the factory airbox.... I want them all BHR style!

Easy_E1
04-04-2010, 10:45 AM
That unit replaces the bottom airbox tray with a complete unit. Bottom and sides. Top is a bolt on to the base component. It's open in the back (Firewall side).

Smoke is bad for the health, this box is cool!
Very cool add-on BHR!

@Team: I run without the plastic tray and my intake temps are very close to ambient temp. In my opinion the radiant heat coming from an aluminium box would be minimal and the airflow inside the AEM is fast enough not to get heat soaked even at a traffic light.

I swear to God, this is getting rediculous. I drew up almost the same thing 3 days ago as I'm getting a new welder tomorrow or wednesday and this is on my list of todo's. Just wasn't sure if I was going to gold foil the bottom or not, guess I don't have to. Building a braile battery tray into mine though.

Looks real good guys, keep it up.

You have the large box Phil. This will not work with your current setup. Unless you want to get rid of the large box. And make me mount all the stuff that's in your large box in the little tray. I don't see that happening.

This may be a stupid question but do you have to take apart the AEM CAI to install this new undertray? I bought my car with the AEM CAI already in it so I'm not sure how to exactly uninstall it since I didn't actually install it... :(

E.M.S.
04-08-2010, 01:16 PM
looks like you just disconect 2 of the sections you would have plenty of room to put in the tray.

Jedi54
04-08-2010, 01:30 PM
WTB: as EMS mentioned, just unsrew the clips that hold the coupler and it comes apart.
the AEM is one of the easiest intakes to work with.

Disconnect the MAF Sensor wire harnes.
Loosen the second hose clamp from the throttle body forward.
Loosen the hose clamp on the flex coupler on the side towards the engine.
Lift up at the throttle body side and lift it out.

I think I unintentionally mislead you. The end of the liner is fine. It was the underside of the hole/cutout for the intake that we had to ream a bit. We enlarged the underside of the cutout maybe 1/2" to accommodate my intake setup.
