I don't know if this has been brought up before. Since this kit tap into the fuel maps, could there be a switch made to send a signal to the computer to send zero fuel? The car will be unable to run and the potential car thief has to either find the switch, or tow the car away. The switch itself could be hidden anywhere in the car or it could even be wireless. What do you guys think?

I would think the stock "vehicle immobilizer" would be much more effective. You have to have the correct key for the ecu (pcm) to allow the engine to run. When I say "correct key" I mean a key programmed into the pcm as an allowed key. If a thief has a key that fits, the engine will not start. It has to have the correct electronic code.

Yes I understand the stock engine immobilizer is more effective, but this is a extra layer of security on top on that. I don't know, may be the guy have a buddy who works at Mazda and could get him a coded key or something. You can never have a car that is thief proof, but at the very least this would throw the thief off.

I think an easier solution would be to install a fuel pump switch. Then you don't have to mess with the pcm wiring.

I agree with RX8friend. His suggestion is not only esier but it would be less prone to errors. A short in your engine management system is the last thing you would want.

Does anyone know about the "Ravelco" anti-theft device? They claim that they never had a vehicle stolen with it installed. If anyone can give me input on this I'd appreciate it. The site on this device is:

thanks!
