Good luck man! I don't know about NY, but MD is pretty good at snow removal. Hopefully you guys are just the same and not like PA. No offense PA, but ya'lls snow removal sucks!
Feras 12-19-2009, 03:46 PM here's pics from outside my house, i had to go to work today it was awful out there, but i also have pics of the noble steed that got me there and back, (and fast too)
btw just got home 10 minutes ago, already a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of snow on the car.

JinDesu 12-19-2009, 03:49 PM My area is pretty good with snow removal, so I expect it to be relatively cleared by tomorrow (assuming it isn't continuing to snow tomorrow).
I gotta break out the shovel tomorrow :(

Feras 12-19-2009, 04:32 PM indeed sir...AWD 265hp and snow tires = winter win. shockingly better with the traction control turned off.
xun4gvn4everx 12-19-2009, 04:35 PM ^ Nice! Glad to hear you made it back safe and sound
klanham08 12-19-2009, 05:35 PM The street I live on has AT LEAST 9-10 inches of snow on it right now, and it is still coming down strong!
I've been outside 3 times today to let my car get warm, clean as much of the snow/ice off as I can, and clear the snow around it lol.
CTrx8 12-19-2009, 05:46 PM still waiting on it here but it's about 2 hours from coming down pretty hard.
Earl the Pearl 12-19-2009, 06:02 PM I'll try digging my WWP out tomorrow after they plow the development. It is still coming down steady here.
Feras 12-19-2009, 06:29 PM i think earl's pic is the winner...that car is gone.
Roxie8 12-19-2009, 06:38 PM lol you cant even tell what kind of cars are in the parking lot here.
klanham08 12-19-2009, 07:12 PM lol you cant even tell what kind of cars are in the parking lot here.
Lol the cars are almost covered it looks like. All you see is the snow piled on top of the side mirrors.
L337fpc 12-19-2009, 07:15 PM I'll play too. I fully disabled TSC with my Wintersport M3's. So much fun. Here are pics after getting home:

Floundered to the front yard, took about eight snow depth measures across the open area.

Vlaze 12-20-2009, 10:17 AM Yea, the weather is wierd. It's pissing us heavy resort fanatics off since the south is getting more snow while the north is getting nadda, capital W T F. Makes no sense, Jersey getting over 12", MD, even where I'm at in CT, but nadda for upper NY or VT, lol. Wierd storm.
RIWWP 12-20-2009, 10:29 AM Just took this pic. Forgot to get one before the neighborhood kids came by to shovel.
Still coming down right now, but supposed to end within an hour or so, radar looks like it's ending. I don't have to go anywhere for another week anyway...:)

This is out our side window. that is a standard 6ft wooden fence, that black thing is a 4ft long roll of old tar paper. Kinda cheating a bit, cause the wind is piling it up all along the side of the house (40ft x 10ft), but still...

Oh the joys of NYC street parking. The plows were thrashing the car with snow all night long, I hope the paint is okay, I was too scared to take a look.
HockeyRX-8 12-20-2009, 05:22 PM i hope you paint is okay rot8te...you need to invest in a car cover...
9krpmrx8 12-20-2009, 08:18 PM Wow, R3 parked on NYC streets? Makes me cringe.
JinDesu 12-20-2009, 08:37 PM riwwp, that's a very square block of snow on ur 8 lol
I shoveled my driveway out today (with no intentions of going out anymore), only to realize that a big van was blocking half of the driveway
....and was surrounded by 4 feet of snow. I don't think I'll be going out anytime soon.
RIWWP 12-20-2009, 09:12 PM Yeah, next time I HAVE to leave is next Saturday, although I think I will need to clean off that block of snow to replace my coils when they arrive :) Another 2 inches after that pic, but doesn't show up on the camera.
We got some wierd wind patterns around my house, does sculptures like that alot. Causes problems with near freezing temps, because somehow it puts my driveway a few degrees colder, and my cars will be covered in frozen dew, and the rest of the cars on the street are just liquid dew, if not dry altogether. Drives me nuts sometimes.
I took a few more angles of the block of snow to show the shape the wind made...

Wow, and I thought forgetting to cover up my 8 in the driveway was bad.
rot8te 12-21-2009, 04:33 AM i hope you paint is okay rot8te...you need to invest in a car cover...
Thanks for the kind sentiment. I'm hoping it's fine, I guess it's just frozen water after all. I'm just worried that snow had rocks and what not in it and was then thrashed on the side of my car. Then again the car only took a beating once or twice, then the snow started to build on top of itself.
Wow, R3 parked on NYC streets? Makes me cringe.
You and me both. Thankfully, my apartment is in a really safe area. Usually a 2009 Audi TT parked right in front of me. However, this does little to comfort me. Next year I'll be in Manhattan paying out the ass for garage parking, but at least I'll sleep at night. There are simply no garages in my area right now, or else I'd be in one. My attitude is I can enjoy the car and accept a ding and a scratch as a reality of urban life and have them fixed in due course, or I can leave it at my parents house on Long Island and enjoy it a few times a year, spending the rest of my time miserable on the subway.
Wow, and I thought forgetting to cover up my 8 in the driveway was bad.
Believe me, I go all out with the detailing, clay baring, etc. But I have no other option than to street park, although I should invest in a cover, my fear being that it makes my car even more of a target, covered on the street that is.
altspace 12-21-2009, 09:34 AM We had over 2 feet yesterday. Guess where my car stays? ;)

RIWWP 12-21-2009, 09:40 AM on top of it?
I was seriously tempted to take it out late last night for some fun, but decided it wouldn't be prudent with a quickly failing ignition system and it's actually unpleasant to drive right now (~9mpg, massive loss in power, misfires constantly, can't go WOT, etc... fresh plugs are in, coils will be here this week)
StikyPaws312 12-21-2009, 09:54 AM Wow, I agree with whoever said it was a weird storm... All the southern coastal areas getting hit the hardest was very odd. I got 28" here... Here's my 3 in the snow.. or what you can see of it, I'll get pics of the 8 up later, lol.
Well.. here's what supposed to be a black hatch 3.... heh

RIWWP 12-21-2009, 12:38 PM Just cleaned off the 8 and took it for a spin or twenty (literally)
So much fun in the snow!
CTrx8 12-21-2009, 12:51 PM got about 10-12" but my 8 was parked nicely in the garage so it was fine today. had to shovel a ton yesterday to clear the driveway and then again this morning to get to the gym after the plow came by again and tried to trap me but it's all good.
xun4gvn4everx 12-21-2009, 01:49 PM my streets have a nice layer of packed frozen solid snow over them. Gatta slip and slide to get out of the neighborhood.
RIWWP 12-21-2009, 01:50 PM I love driving on packed snow :)
xun4gvn4everx 12-21-2009, 02:01 PM It's def fun and a good time! but, my street is kinda narrow, so you risk sliding into the snow drifts on the sides created by the plows.
moonkid 12-21-2009, 02:01 PM we had a lot here too but my 8 was nicely warm in my garage.... :) took the fiancee car to work but i really miss my 8 that night i wanted to have some fun in the snow... and when i got back home my neighbor was doing donuts on the loop...... i was so jealous..
But shes back out today
that is not a happy car.
only got about 10inches here in western jersey but I was out on the island and the roads were still shitty
Thank god for blizzak's

Lol they go from a dusting, to 1-3, to 3-5, to 5-10, and like you said it won't stop until early Sunday morning. It has pretty much stopped where I live so hopefully I won't have to go back out and re-dig my car out.
af7mn 01-30-2010, 10:09 PM Come shovel my driveway! My car is nestled in the garage...but I haven't figured out how ima get outta my driveway come Monday morning. Suppose to be sunny all day tomorrow but I don't think it'll be sunny enough to melt it away. Grrr. I have to turn in a final exam on Monday morning! I have to get out! haha

Mazurfer 02-06-2010, 11:02 AM Daughter is pretty much stuck inside in Arlington, VA right now. here's a few pics she sent me. She can't get out of the complex gate right now as it's frozen shut. There was a huge tree that came down on somebody's truck which you will see in one of the photos. These are from early this morning on 2/6/10.
Sorry.....couple of shots are through the screen on the window, but what the hell!
Going to keep them small, you'll have to click on them to enlarge.
Mazurfer 02-06-2010, 11:04 AM Two more......................Oh, and it's still snowing there and is expected to do so through the evening.
This is right outside the Ft. Meyer area close to the Pentagon.
Glad I'm in Florida, but I would like to go snow skiing out West of the city!

No weights...but I have WinterSport M3s. The only thing you have to worry about is ground clearance with the snow drifts and fallen ice chunks.

EdwardsB 02-06-2010, 08:28 PM yeah we probably got around 24'' up here. Don't like to snow to sit on the car, so I cleaned around it. Now it has its very own snow fort, the kids around here don't even have forts yet! I wont be driving it for a while so I'll just wait till it melts away. My neighbor was telling me we might get 3-6'' wed then more next weekend?!?
BTW, how has everyone been?...I have been a bit of a hermit lately.
