I recently purchased a 2009 RX8 R3. What do you guys think of that combo progress tech front and rear sways with s-techs. Any input.

 

are you planning on tracking? autox? just a lowered look?

 

Progress Sways are great, but I would go with their new Spring set up as well. If your just going to be driving on the street they have a Street set for $175. If you plan on AutoX'ing or getting on the Track they have a much more agressive spring with higher spring rates, if that's what your looking for.

 

I'm looking for a setup in the middle this is going to be my DD but I do want to get into auto x for a hobby. Just a event here and there. What would u guys recommend?

 

personally i always thought that s-techs are a tad on the softer side for performance driving, i dont know too much about sways since im still on the oem one, but just thought to throw the question out there so your question would be more applicable,

also if you change out your springs, its recommended to change out the shocks also, oem shocks are pretty crappy anyways

 

I have the same combo and daily drive and track my car its a great set up but I'd go with some coilovers instead of the s-techs if your looking for more handling

 

i'm also curious as too lowering springs for my 09 r3, i phoned tein and they said that they haven't done any testing on the r3 yet, i want to know if the lowering springs will even work on the r3, are they the same setup on the r3 as they are on previous models? i really want to lower my car with the s techs as well, but just want to make sure that they will work with the r3

 

r3 uses bilstein shocks right? are the mounts different?

 

yah they have upgraded the suspension in the r3 to bilstein, but thats exactly what i want to know, are the mounts the same, are the springs still the same as previous years, if so then i don't see why i couldn't use lowering springs for previous years on my r3, but i'm just not sure.
