View Full Version : FS/FT: JIC-Magic Full Ti Catback
tiltmode43 10-26-2009, 12:24 AM Alright, rather than bump the thread from eons ago, I decided to create a new one, to help clarify. The exhaust developed a crack where the connector meets the muffler. The catback was taken to JIC-Magic US headquarters and repaired. As you can see, the work is top notch with very very beefy welds. Remember, titanium is neither easy, nor cheap to have repaired. They also opened up the cannister from the side to make sure everything was good inside and to help reinforce. Will come with hardware + nearly new gaskets. The exhaust is 2.6" so it would be best for N/A car. I initially thought it was 3" because thats what their website says but measured when off and found out it was 2.6"
The exhaust has no dings or dents and is in amazing condition for being used! There is one blemish on one of the tips that happened when transporting it to JIC. It must have sat rubbing against something, I'm not sure. Doesn't effect anything though!
Reason for sale - I don't want to risk damaging such a great piece due to my ride height. I'd prefer something cheaper for the time being...

Blemish in burn. The rest of the tip is dirty with nothing wrong -

Asking price is $900 obo. Original MSRP is something like $2300...
I'm open to trade for other parts or catback + cash, preferably the HKS Hi Power/RB Race Exhaust but show me what you've got :mdrmed:
Eight 10-26-2009, 02:00 AM wow very nice exhaust, why do you have to be so far away T 0 T). All the good stuff seems to be on the other side of the country.
Ross_Dawg 10-26-2009, 02:13 AM Wow thats an amazing price; bump for a good guy
J8635621 10-26-2009, 02:24 AM Super amazing price.
tiltmode43 10-26-2009, 01:33 PM Thanks guys!
If anyone not local is serious about purchasing, I will ship for a very reasonable price!
J8635621 10-26-2009, 01:54 PM Did it cost anything to have JIC redo that weld?
mike[piston eater] 10-26-2009, 02:06 PM down to trade for a rev8 :D
tiltmode43 10-26-2009, 11:56 PM J - If you've got a purchase receipt they will repair or potentially order you an entirely new system if you've got issues, or so I was lead to believe.
Mike, I wish I could but deng, that thing is too heavy for my tastes!
xl2oGel2x 10-27-2009, 12:56 AM ...haha you cant compare it to titanium...everything else is heavier
tiltmode43 10-27-2009, 12:59 AM ...haha you cant compare it to titanium...everything else is heavier
HKS is pretty close, next best thing being RB Race. Isn't the Rev8 heavier than the oem exhaust by a few pounds???
SleepeR1st 10-27-2009, 06:31 AM This exhaust is great. If you want one of the best exhausts, and have the $900 GET IT!!
I jumped on mine when i saw it for sale.
imput1234 10-27-2009, 07:13 AM Good price, just curious how much does this weight? I wish someone made a single full Ti.
Bump.
J8635621 10-27-2009, 08:13 AM I weighed the muffler of mine when I got it. It is at least half the weight of the entire catback and was only 9 lbs. http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=108657&d=1192142281
realBlackSunshine 10-27-2009, 08:45 AM 1 thing to say EXOTICSPEED KICKS ASSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
J8635621 10-27-2009, 09:08 AM ? Wtf Those have Ti-tips on Stainless steel replica designs. This is completely titanium and much better sounding.
tiltmode43 10-27-2009, 03:47 PM 1 thing to say EXOTICSPEED KICKS ASSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exoticspeed and JIC Full Titanium aren't even in the same league! Maybe you thought this was the exoticspeed exhaust?... :dunno:
I too wish there was a full Ti single exit. C'mon JIC get it together!!!
J8635621 10-27-2009, 03:50 PM I wish there was a JIC dual exit/dual muffler higher flow design. Wait that would cost like $6k. I'll stick with what I have lol.

The longer this thread stays up, the more I want to delete it. I love the sound so much, I should really just pony up the cash to buy another catback and keep this one for later! hahaha...
J8635621 10-27-2009, 03:58 PM You should definitely keep it.
Ross_Dawg 10-27-2009, 05:47 PM +1, I have the JIC SUS and wouldnt mind upgrading to the Ti lol
xl2oGel2x 10-27-2009, 08:09 PM Only problem tilt is are you really going to get a chance to put it on later. Your setup just gets more and more aggressive and I wouldnt risk a Ti exhaust getting all screwed up.
tiltmode43 10-27-2009, 08:12 PM I don't know if I'd say its getting progressively more aggressive but more-so just changing. There will be a time when I raise my car a couple inches and wouldn't mind running this setup. Then again, having two exhausts makes it more of a practicality issue, lol.
To clarify - Yes, the exhaust is still up for sale :)
tiltmode43 11-01-2009, 05:31 PM Bump for $ or trade offers...
tiltmode43 11-03-2009, 03:11 AM Bump - Wow, absolutely zero PMs about this - not even lowballs!
mike[piston eater] 11-03-2009, 03:11 AM its cause we know its too baller for us, you should just keep it
TeamRX8 11-03-2009, 08:33 AM Not trying to lowball you, but I paid $400 for one in perfect condition, they were only $1200 new at one point
chino0314 11-03-2009, 08:34 AM better pictures might help

The input is appreciated, $400 is a steal. I guess I'm partially reluctant to sell, I love this thing! I believe the cheapest I could find via google shopping is $1960 + shipping/taxes. Even Vivid has them for $2122. Also, this one has been reinforced at the connecting point, a place I've seen many (3+) fail.
Gr8Bullet 11-03-2009, 12:42 PM bump for a good guy! and awesome exhaust!!! glws
