I8U 09-13-2009, 03:47 PM Man, this site needs some kind of pop-up feature for whenever someone makes a new thread, where it asks if you have SEARCHED first for your question before allowing the thread to go through. nycgps 09-13-2009, 03:51 PM Put this CAT in. solves all problem http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=145254&stc=1&d=1252871484 mysql101 09-13-2009, 03:59 PM What would be the best high flow catalytic for a turbo charged 8? That's like asking what would be the best Daewoo to buy to go fast in. ZumnRx8 09-13-2009, 04:00 PM OP http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp53/rx8zumn/FAIL/epic_fail_guy-12983.jpg mysql101 09-13-2009, 04:02 PM lol TeamRX8 09-13-2009, 04:15 PM That's like asking what would be the best Daewoo to buy to go fast in. http://www.dayofthejedi.com/articles/2009/01/images/motivators/b/0865.jpg Pay no attention to these idiots. Search "teamrx8 catalytic" for the info. Another member installed mine on his turbo. It's not inexpensive, but should be good up to the 12 - 15 psig range. . mysql101 09-13-2009, 04:27 PM Team, we get it. You think the lack of a cat will end the world. Please get a sign and go stand in the parking lot of NASCAR events. It might be more effective telling them they are witness to several dozen catless vehicles. Jedi54 09-13-2009, 04:28 PM Team; nice pic. not sure on the fuctard comment though. Nycgps:  To the OP: if you're turbo, you need a midpipe. you'll burn up most high flow cats. Do a search, much to learn you have. TeamRX8 09-13-2009, 04:41 PM Team, we get it. You think the lack of a cat will end the world. Please get a sign and go stand in the parking lot of NASCAR events. While I'm very vocal about my opposition to running catless on the street, my comment wasn't relevant to that position. Telling someone that running a cat on a turbo is pointless only infers your own personal ignorance on the subject. The OP may have any number of valid reasons for wanting or needing to run a cat converter with a turbo setup. That want or need may exceed the desire to make peak power. So that's fail x 2 for you, nice. ZumnRx8 09-13-2009, 04:46 PM JEDIS post-^exactly- the first line.....well make that both lines....OP why do u think most turbo'ed cars shoot flames like 2ft outta the rear? TeamRX8 - i get you too but most turbo'd set ups dont, like 99% of them. mysql101 09-13-2009, 04:49 PM While I'm very vocal about my opposition to running catless on the street, my comment wasn't relevant to that position. So that's fail x 2 for you, nice. Actually, the fact that you're resorting to name calling out of the gate means you have failed. Getting a reliable setup is paramount for a turbo setup. Installing a cat (legalities aside) adds one more system that can fail and cause issues, or at the very least, another system to check when running into issues. Now factor in that a high quality highflow cat isn't cheap, and that it's an exhaust restriction, and you'll see why I made the Daewoo comment. PS: You'll live longer if you don't get so worked up over what people say on the internets. Dadecounty8 09-13-2009, 04:58 PM The reason why I asked is b/c I'm trying to keep it street legal. mysql101 09-13-2009, 05:00 PM The reason why I asked is b/c I'm trying to keep it street legal. So you're buying a carb approved turbo kit? Most of the stuff you're going to buy will usually say "For offroad use only" Dadecounty8 09-13-2009, 05:01 PM I mean I understand you guys are "bad-asses and know it all when it comes to rx-8s" but I thought you would be slightly more helpful. Dadecounty8 09-13-2009, 05:07 PM So you're buying a carb approved turbo kit? Most of the stuff you're going to buy will usually say "For offroad use only" I'm trying to go for the Esmeril kit but I don't want my car transmitting fuel smell at all times, something that I fear if I go catless. mysql101 09-13-2009, 05:08 PM I am helpful. You want street legal, but you're picking and choosing what you want in order to convince yourself that you are going to be street legal. You aren't going to be street legal. There are no carb approved turbo kits for this car that I'm aware of. So best bet is to keep it stock. mysql101 09-13-2009, 05:08 PM If you want to avoid exhaust fumes, that is a different story altogether, and your first valid reason for getting a cat :) Dadecounty8 09-13-2009, 05:15 PM So apparently there aren't any highflow cats out there atm made to withstand 16psi(esmeril psi range)? ZumnRx8 09-13-2009, 05:20 PM yeah there is....But it only came on the LEGENDARY MAZDASPEED 8... shazy 09-13-2009, 10:46 PM Oh damn I remember that! Look at my sig for more details.
