Has anyone had any experience with Kool Vue brake Pads? I came across a killer deal on a set of CM series. Here is the description:

Now I know my other options. I'm just looking to see if anyone has tried this brand yet.

So are they ceramic or do they just have ceramic particles?

From what I understand, they are mostly Kevlar, with ceramic particles. I decided to go ahead and order a set. I'll be posting a review once they are bedded in

These pads seem to be good so far. I am not sure if they are not completely bedded in, or they just need a little heat to get up to temp, but they stop me well. I had to make an emergency stop from about 70 on the 8 East and... no problems there. I do not track my car, so I cannot say how they would hold up under repeated heavy braking.

But on the topic of brakes... I'd be interested to hear more on how these pads work out for you. I'm going to be changing out my pads and rotors pretty soon. I was going to go with a set of Satisfied Pro Ceramics, which are praised for low dust/noise, but not necessarily performance.

What's that, the kevlar ceramics you mentioned, or the Satisfied Pro Ceramics?

These pads are working out great. I believe them to be best for street use though, as I seem to experience some fade after repeated steady braking on a hot day. Also, they will squeel on a cold day (<40 F).

One thing I have noticed is that these pads need to be driven hard. They do not like long steady breaking, but work best with shorter harder stops. I must say, they have gotten better with age, though.

All things considered, these have been good street brakes for me... They have proven themselves to be an exceptional value.

Do kevlar brakes suffer from that same glazing drawback a kevlar clutch would?

If you want some kickass pads get the Porterfield R4-1 compound. I was never big on Porterfield pads until I tried this Vintage racing car compound. They will kick out the dust, but can generate 0.6 mu as low as 200 degF, which will just about make you crosseyed if you slam the pedal down hard with grippy tires.
