Fisrt i am not throwing any dealership under the bus. Just stating my experiance with them... And i will make it short... ask questions and i will reply...
this is in South Charleston, WV
4 month ago I replaced the coil packs, wires, plugs.
3 months dealer replaced CAT.
3rd on the car in three years.
2 weeks ago, new plugs again... 9,000 miles
today, did a compression test and a de-carb. at the dealership
they tried to charge me 205$ for the de-carbing which falls under the LACK OF POWER TSB, and is covered under warrenty. this is something they should have done to the car after they replaced the converter. since a cloged converter causes deposits in the motor??? second when i picked up my car they said that it passed the compression test but didnt offer to give me any documentation on it... I asked for the read out for the compression test and they told me the following.
readings are in kgf/cm2
rotor 1 @250
6.4 6.4 6.3
rotor 2 @250
6.7 6.9 6.6
after doing the caclulations and asking some great people in this forum I find out the the lower limit for Mazda is 6.9. Sooo, anything 6.9 or lower is bad and needs replaced.
??????? why would they tell me it was good when it was not? I will ask that question along with all of my found information pertaining to Mazdas standards and will go from there...
If anyone else is or has had issues and would like to discuse it please let me know.
hope this helps someone.
sorry for the spelling, going fast!!!
