Hey everyone,

i currently have this head unit by pioneer

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4039_38309,00.html

can that be installed in the RX-8 rather than the regular stock cd player? Is there a way to make this look good in place of the stock or should i just keep the stock unit?

This is by far one of the best head units i have owned and i would like to integrate this into my new car when i get it in a few weeks. \

Any help will be appreciated.

great looking player and I am sure the mp3 function will be easy to use, BUT, sorry to disappoint you, I don't think this can be retrofitted without major modification of the superb looking dash in the RX-8.
You can install the (made by Panasonic) mp3/CD player which shows ID3 tags and filename on the main display at the top of the dashboard.

The problem will be the face plate. Inside, it's a 2-Din unit. However, the only real problem with the factory system is its lack of aux inputs for satelite etc.

can you show a picture of where you think would be a good place to mount this?

top of the dash question:
in the middle, just below the NAV unit is a red display for A/C radio/CD/tape/mp3, ambient temp etc, when you switch display for the mp3 player, the audio part of the display switches to the name tag
