Why don't we just merge with the rx7 caravan?

last year they left uber early as i remember and alot of people dont wanna get up that early

Seems like a small number considering there are quite a few rotorheads from San Diego that are pretty active. I don't think we made a thread yet on the caravan since it's still a few months away.

Does this caravan take the 15 all the way or you guys switch over to the 78 then 5?

78 to the 5. last year we put it together in about 2 weeks so i think thats pretty good haha but it would be cool to ride up with the sevens just let me know. oh and by the way can you try to make your meeting spot more north. its easier for people to drive north to meet and continue on the drive up there but its harder (especially in this economy) to justify drivin 20-30 minutes south just to meet up with people. just a suggestion

Last year it was pretty early and we met up at Fusion. Then we traveled up and met up where the at a place close 78 and the 5 merged with the more northern 7s That way no one gets left behind. lucky northern guys get to sleep in a few more minutes.

FYI - at our June 7s/8s meeting, they were sayihg that the plan was to coordinate two departure times for two separate caravans up.

There would be an early bird departure and a 10 AM departure. They said they'd post a thread here as it got closer to SS.

I'll be there. I'll be watching this thread to see if it changes to merge with the 7s, but I'm down for some sort of caravan departing from SD.

UrbanOcho had it right; the last few years we have had two(2) departure times.
1) Those that "been there; done that"
2) Those that just wanna get up before the crack of dawn to wait in line.

In all honesty, it ws great to get up there early, see all the cars lined up on the street and get a spot in the parking lot.

At the August meeting we'll get our act together and settle on the exact times. The later one is porbably about 10:00-10:30 AM departure. This group is really just interested in meeting other rotorheads, seeing the cars/tech info and then going to the HH and banquet. Staying overnight makes it a lot better. As an aside, I highly recommend doing the banquet.

Anyway, after the August meeting, we'll have the details out for the "7" crowd.

Damn dude that sucks.. So what year is the WWP? I know your other car was pushing 100k right? I can't believe they totalled it. I wrecked mine a few months back and it looked way worse than that and they fixed mine... But glad to see you got another 8...

Yea, she was killed at 106K. I was sad but when I the bus company gave me a 05 with 70k less miles on it I felt a lot better.

That's sweet man... I can't say that if my 8 was totalled that I'd get another one though.. Just too many options out there. But if I could do it over I'd definetly go with WWP or BB for sure good color choice.

About half of the SD sevens are heading up Friday.. probably 7 cars deep right now. we will need to confirm a good time sorta mentioned that around 2 or 3 was a good time but we will see when the event draws even closer.. Also we are meeting up with people along the way as we head up so it's going to be a nice chill drive up.

Rx8s leaving for Irvine on Friday are welcome to join our caravan.

Plan is to meet up at Fusion @ 12:30 eat lunch in San Diego and have a relaxing cruise on the way up to the Hotel in Irvine. The hotel has free shuttles until 2am in the morning so as soon as we park in the structure we don't have to drive anywhere. Most likely going to hit up Irvine Spectrum and get our gaming/drink on :) Anyone planning to head up Friday PM me with your name/number/notable car difference so you don't get left behind. :bubbrubb:

Fusion Cafe on Clairemont Mesa Blvd EAST of the 805 and WEST of the 163 is the meeting place for people going up FRIDAY and staying at the Double Tree Hotel.

Meeting time is around 1200-1230 then were we eat lunch will be decided there after that it's casual drive up after hoping to arrive by 1600 @ Double Tree Hotel.
