Hey guys, while installing a set of RB sway bars this piece fell out on the passenger side while removing the sway bar. It's not the J-hook for the battery that holds the battery down. So i don't know what its for...any ideas. thanks

 

Battery tie down bolt. That's what it is...maybe an extra got left in there by mistake?

 

It is a battery holddown, why it is there is the question. Are you the first owner of the car?
Someone dropped it in the car and bought another one.

Man, there are so many n00bs in here getting the answer wrong. That piece is a tool used by the ancient Egyptians. It is used to remove the brain through the noise before being mummified.

looks like your 8 gobbled up a 'J' anchor bolt for a street lamp post.

 

Yeah, I"m the first owner...guess mazda left one in there when they installing a new battery
