Did some searching but after page 2 I gave up, maybe I wasn't searching the right forums.. anywho, it's 4am so bleh.


So I was wondering the effect of getting a lighter clutch & flywheel? Obviously it's going to reduce rotational weight which in theory would free up a few ponies, but is it worth it? i.e is it something most of you guys did/would do?

Is there a specific brand I should be looking at? I'm not looking for ultra-high-super-performance but just a noticeably better than stock without costing me an arm and a leg :mdrmed:

I did my clutch and flywheel install with a couple friends and it wasn't that bad.
But I did a TON of searching and reading to prepare myself and get the required tools needed to help the install go smoother.
There was one thing I never knew about and called Charles R Hill for advise, then I found another adjustment a few days later to make my driving experience better.

I PMed Charles R Hill for clutch/flywheel suggestions and told him that I wanted a street-friendly clutch for my NA application, but can handle a future FI upgrade.
I trusted his suggestions and I'm very pleased with what I got.

I say bhr flywheel and a stage 1 clutch... That should do it :)

Upgrading the clutch and flywheel for lighter parts has pretty much been one modification everyone agrees that they love.

The best way to think of the effects of removing rotational mass from the clutch and flywheel is in terms of time rather than horsepower. What the effect is, is it takes less time to get through the RPM band than with the stock clutch and flywheel.

Currently, the BHR/SPEC clutch and flywheel offers the lightest combination however we have been sure to caution people that doing so can result in increases in transmission noise, vibration and requires the driver to adjust how they handle slipping the clutch etc.

The changes are, in my opinion, not very drastic but we have had customers who were surprised as the amount of changes they experienced.

In terms of whether or not it's worth it...I would say of the modifications you can do it's a great one to have. It's a mod you will use all the time while driving the car.

faster rev's with a lighter flywheel....but i would not do a clutch/flywheel unless i needed one

Thanks for the replies guys, I contacted Charles and agreed on a BHR Clutch & flywheel :)
