View Full Version : Need Help With Peeling Clear Coat

I have no clue what is going on with this back passanger corner panel of my car..
Just a month ago I didnt have any signs of this coming.. I did wax it and this started to happen.. Its not on any other part of the car.. My clear coat seems to
be peeling off at a rapid rate.. The first picture is 2 weeks ago and the next ones
or of today.. Im not sure if I should go get an auto repair shop to do it or if I could do it myself.. If I do get a auto body shop to do it what do you think would
be the damage $$ wise..

they're going to sand it down, and repaint it. it will cost a lot.

I would say your car was wrecked in that corner prior to your ownership. And a body shop did a crappy repaint. That happens when the base color has sat longer than allowable before the clear coat application.

well i think im gonna get this package from e-bay with a primer gun, base and clear gun and a touch up gun and try to wet sand and repain it myself..

^worth a try and will prob b cheaper even with purchasing equiptment etc etc...good luck
