Today was the first time I revved my 8 beyond 5000 RPM and it felt like there was a little bit of vibration at that RPM. Until now at lower RPMs it's always felt smooth as silk.

I was getting on a freeway on ramp today and thought I'd gas it a little since there were some cars coming. When I pressed the clutch to shift (from 2nd to 3rd) I could feel the vibration through my shoe and a little bit through the cabin. It kind of startled me and sort of like the feeling you get when you bite on an electric toothbrush....bzzzzzz LOL.

I'm going to have to try this again. Maybe my 8 just needs to get broken in more and she'll be fine :)

I've been sort going at the rate of 300 miles 3000 RPM, 400 miles 4000 RPM, and now that I just reached 500 miles I'm revving the 8 to 5000 rpms every now and then. Just wait till I hit 1000 miles...10,000 RPMs here I come :) ...just kidding.

I just got home and took the same on ramp to the freeway and tried it again. This time I was in 2nd and took it up too about 6500 rpm....WOOT!!! Wow I think I was just shocked the first time.

The 8 really sings when you start climbing the RPMs and it's pretty awesome. Heck I hope I don't start liking this too much because I can now see how some of you are getting 14 mpg :p

Now when I stop and think about it, I was probably feeling EXHILARATION and not vibration.

You will like it more and more! I get about 10 mpg. I think I'm winning on the "lowest" mpg ;)

Once broken in, why not just overrev 2nd and skip 3rd? That should help with the fuel economy & fun
