If so, how do you like it? How has it held up? Does it stay cooler in the summer?

post pictures if you can

Thanks!:)

Well it kinda sucks having to take a shower to clean all the sand off every time I go drive, but it keeps things rather cool when the A/C is going as the sand nearer the windows absorbs heat, so there's less heat coming to me.

It really sucks when I sneeze though, it just goes flying everywhere.

My parchment leather (kinda light colored sand) does stay cooler in the summer, but my black cherry mica paint doesn't help at all. The leather has held up very well, although I do maintain it regularly with Meguair's leather treatment. Maybe I'll go do it right.... now. ;)

^ I have the light Parchment leather, too. As Huey52 says, it holds up fine if you just keep on top of it with leather cleaner. And yeah, the seats are a bit cooler in the summer when you first get in the car.

What's more, I find that, with its small windows and black seats, the 8 is somber inside. I find the non-black interiors more inviting—and they have the effect of calling more attention to the 8's attractive seats. (When everything's black, the interior tends to be just another dark and formless interior, IMO.

Black is best!! :yesnod: I use Meguiars GOLD leather treatmeant and use a sunshade when the car is parked at home...so either way my car is cool and protected from the sun, If my black leather was to ever give, I will get black perfortaed or whatever (the one with tiny wholes) leather..

Look in the Calling all Colors section in the multimedia forum. Copper Red and Shinkas came in sand. Someone must have posted photos. Look on eBay too.

this is a funny thread considering just last weekend, I went to the local landscape store to buy bags of sand. Now my car is full of sand. I guess you can say my car has Sand interior too. heheheheh.

I have it

like myriadshalaks, my driver seat's color is significantly different than the other 3 seats.

and nothing I do helps.

I just give up and if it breaks one day. I just gonna buy myself some lighter fabric seats or black leather seats.

Beige leather shows wear pretty quickly in general. It is pretty to look at when new though.

I dislike beige interiors because they wear and show wear so much faster and easier. Black interior is easier to clean and looks cleaner and newer when it's older.

I do agree that the sand interior brightens up the interior. The all black interiors are pretty dark. I have the black/red, and I think the red brightens up the interior even though it may not be for everyone.

I believe Jeremy Clarkson likens the black and red interior of the rx-8 to a man's washbag. :)
