View Full Version : Very cool $50 Mod
Old mod...but I finally did something w/ the OEM driving lights - 55w Höen Endurance bulbs. I think they look great w/ the factory HIDs.
Snapped this about an hour ago, today after the install.

I forgot to attach it! doh! You caught it before I fixed it...hehe :)
kersh4w 05-18-2009, 06:54 PM you mean the yellow fogs?
yes it does look nice.
Thanks!
Yeah - those driving lights. I never noticed a benefit to them - other than aesthetics.
Jedi54 05-18-2009, 06:58 PM dmp: I think you mean foglights.
The hoen bulbs rock! I've had them in my car for a few years now.
PS. why did look at that picture and think, "Gotham City" Has that dark alley look to it...
Yeah - I mean those driving lights. :) Fog light would imply some amount of measurable or realized usefulness during inclement weather.
I was on the fence for awHile, trying to decide if I wHanted yellow lamps w/ the HIDs. I finally took the plunge, However.
Nemesis8 05-18-2009, 07:40 PM Is your car really in that alley :uhh:
Ross_Dawg 05-18-2009, 07:43 PM now you just need the white driving lights and clear corners and that would be kickass!
Is your car really in that alley :uhh:
Absolutely. :) Very interesting location.
now you just need the white driving lights and clear corners and that would be kickass!
...but I just changed them from white to yellow.
I have clear corners. :)

kersh4w 05-18-2009, 11:29 PM just to clear things up a bit, you have 3 lights on in that picture.
1. headlights
2. running/driving lights
3. fog lights
the running/driving lights are the little ones in the corner. the bottom ones are correctly referred to as fog lights. and yes, i agree. they are useless. thats why i took them out. lol.
Lebren 05-18-2009, 11:31 PM Made my own, cost $0.00
are you referring to the fogs?
Brettus 05-18-2009, 11:36 PM never mind the mod - that picture rocks man !!!

1. Headlights.
2. Side Marker Lights
3. Parking Lights
4. DRIVING lights. They are useless in fog. Thus...fog lights is a misnomer.
:)
Krazed_Rx8 05-19-2009, 12:13 AM Loving the pic! Mod looks great by the way.

Ok then white LED's in your PARKING lights and SIDE MARKER lights would really help the look as well so you dont have 3 different shades going on.
I'm really starting to like that yellow fog light look though...

They look great... and I exactly thinking of gotham city!
briann 05-19-2009, 01:43 AM Looks real good.
How do you get shots that crisp? T_T
8rotor8 05-19-2009, 02:33 AM FYI, i have been using these bulbs http://www.hid-lights.com/cat/halogen-bulb-gp3500.htm
3 years and running without any burnouts or fading. Best part they are only $10. I posted the link before somewhere...
dondo 05-19-2009, 04:39 AM i like my fogs and think they work just fine in bad weather. at least they illuminate the street right in front of you unlike the headlights..
Loving the pic! Mod looks great by the way.

Awesome! Great link

Do you not have HIDs? These driving lamps are so vastly over-powered by the headlights, there's little - very little - visibility difference w/ them on. Perhaps 1 - 3 feet to the very lower edges of the road.
SilverHokie 05-19-2009, 09:09 AM The fogs in my sig are the PIAA Yellows. Got them off of eBay for around that price. I love they way Yellow fogs look on the Sunlight Silver.
lepichichi 05-19-2009, 11:49 AM nice pic

I don't mean to get off topic, but how are your headlights so clean? One of mine is starting to get that old, dirty plastic look. Does anyone know a product that would take this off? I assume it is on the outside and not the inside.
kersh4w 05-19-2009, 08:29 PM use 800 grit, 1200 grit, 2000 grit sandpaper.
then use a polishing compound.

I didnt use any sand paper, but I wash and wax my car by myself. And every time I wax my car, I wax the head light too.
It may help a bit~
mine is 2004, the oldest ^^
