OK IM in NJ right now and my car is in Fl. I will be gone for about 17 more days. The car has not been turned on for 4 days already. so basically its more like 21 days. Should I have done some procedure to prep the car for a long time not being driven?

If so, If I didn't prep it would it cause damage. Or would it be difficult to start.

I don't think you'll have any problem. You may need to recharge the battery or get a jumpstart to make sure it cranks over fast enough to start well.

I've had my FC and FD sit around for multi-week periods without starting them and the only issue I've had is a flat battery (and the withdrawal pains from not driving them). Make sure you pop the hood, check the oil and other fluids and make sure no animals have made the engine compartment their new home before you start it also. When I went home for 4 weeks onece some kind of small animal decided to call the airfilter box in the FC it's new home and dragged in a bunch of leaves and chewed through the filter, so it's always good to check that kind of stuff.

Of course, just my experience and someone else may likely chime in with a different story. Not driving/starting it for 4 or 5 months might warrant some storage prep.

I think your FE will be OK. My FD hibernates about 3 months every winter and the only thing I do is charge the battery monthly.

sferrett, did you post your air box critter story on the RX-7 club? I remember reading a story like that along time ago. :)

3 weeks should not be a problem, unless the car is in high humidiy/moisture.

If you are truly paranoid, then drain the oil when you get back and put new oil in.

But that's if you are overly paranoid ;) Really, it should be just fine! Just start her up, idle for a min, and drive very very very easily until she warms up to temp ;)
