I am new to the Pensacola area and would like to meet some local rotor/ gear heads. So we have been talking about putting a meet together for May 31 at the Cordova mall 12:00 p.m. We haven't decided what exactly we will be doing but it will most likely deal with meeting everyone and getting some food. The next meet we will try and plan for a drive or something similar to that. So come out and welcome me to the area....

how often are you guys wanting to meet up? if you read in the "anybody in p'cola" thread, there's a club based out of New Orleans that's coming to pensacola on august 3rd i think. but they're having a big group come so we can do that too, idk if i'll have the money to meet them half way and drive with them though.

Well it is a fairly new clutch... depending how you stick skills are, lol. I would take it to the dealer with the knowledge you have an aftermarket clutch (so bring it to a friendly dealer that doesn't mind the added aftermarket items). Let them take a look at it...

This is a bit far for me to go for a meet, but if there is a drive put together later on I'd be interested.

This is a simple meet and greet its my first meet in this area. I wanted to meet the local rotary owners so in my mind we would meet up check out the rides, get some food, and if we feel like it drive around a little together and maybe get some pictures.

I'll bring most-all of my camera gear and another photographer (my 9 yr old daughter), so they'll be lots of pics. If there is a scenic spot near by, it'd really help w/ the photos.

So yea thsi meet looks like its going to be a very good one. Im catching some of the RX8's running around here and trying to get them involved too. I literally chased one down on my work's box truck. I was flashing my lights and everything at this guy. Finally got him to pull over and got talking with him and he wants to get down there but he got a cruise to go on. He said he be at the next one. Then at the end of the day I was leaving work on my 8 and chased another one down into the mall. We drove around the mall twice before he parked. I think he was trying to lose me but just couldnt do it. He finally parked and when he got out I waved him over to my ride. He spoke very little English but gave me a number to his english speaking friend (LOL) and said to talk to him. They said they would think about it to. Im gone catch every 8 in this town (and thats really not much) and see what I can get. It would be cool to have a good sized convoy down to pensacola and then meet up with an even bigger one.

Looks beautiful - however a couple concerns..

I don't see an obvious place to pull 15 cars over. I see a parking lot just as the route turns and heads east, however - but it's some distance from the beach. Now, along the road I see lots of empty sand. Will we need to bring shovels to dig out? How's the shoulder there for parking on? I'd love to see marked (+/-) pull-over spots, in case some get separated. Anyone have FRS radios? We could drop a few cell numbers once we meet up and establish leads and trailers, etc..

Sorry to over-analyze or over-plan...that's just me. :(

I will be driving the route this weekend and taking pictures of locations we can stop for photo ops. I am new here and it is probably a good idea to try and make the route familiar. As for the radios... i believe i have 4 deff 2. We can exchange numbers before we leave for the drive.

Yeah I got rid of the cat and I was ok for a while but now I got this P0139 and a P2096. The 2nd one is the one that worries me. It says Target AF feedback system too lean- right bank. My A/F is good though. But n e ways it trips the ecu into limp mode and messes wit my fun. Just curious if sumone with the accessport cud plug in and eliminate the code for good! I will try to make it for sure. Goin to visit one of my buds that was KIA in Valley, AL sat so if im up for another drive I will call you. What time u plan on leaving?

thas bout the time im leaving too, its bout an hour from here to exit 112 where we meeting at. i am gone be spending a good part of the night cleaning my car up. I got my front bumper fixed and painted so now its time for the cleaning to begin. cant have the dirtiest 8 down there. lol.

Ok folks I wanted to share some news with everyone.... Today I was contacted by a local Mazda dealer looking to sponsor some events/ meetings. I have put a couple of phone calls in to some organizations that might help us produce a very interesting meet or two.

If you guys have any ideas let them fly...

The follow up email I recieved today to my phone conversation:

What we would like to offer in sponsoring the local club would be a location to meet for club meetings and for meet and greets. You would have access to use our canopy for other shows that you attend in the area. All club members will get a discount on parts and accessories. I will work on a discount for service but don’t foresee that being a problem. We are here to help the club and want to offer things to you that you will find of value. If you have any ideas of what you would like us to provide for the club let me know and I’ll see what we can do.

What we want to get out of it is exposure and to get others excited about Mazda products also.

Too, we are having our Grand Opening on July 2nd between 3-8pm. We will be having a drawing for a big screen TV, snacks, cold drinks and all current Mazda owners will get a coupon for a free oil change. We would love for you guys to meet here if at all possible.

Either way let me know what you think of the sponsorship and starting up a club in our area.
