Well, I'm getting the itch for boost again..... So I'm scouting turbo options for a custom build. I've noticed the T04E(ball bearing one) and was wondering how it would compare to the standard turbos used in the kits and the 3071R which gets mentioned alot here. I found a few search hits but no real info or opinions on this turbo. It is about half the price of the 3071R and to my untrained eye seems similar. Anyone have any input ?

This would be going on a custom front/top mount system so fitting and clearances aren't a big concern. My initial goal would be a nice usable 325hp with room to turn it up when I want more down the road. If anyone has any other recommendations on a turbo I'm all ears

 

there are a gazillion T04E variants. what you are describing could be anything.

 

I guess I was on the right track, I contacted one of the regular turbo gurus/builders here on the forums and he recommended a "T04E 60-1 P trim"

Still sourcing the rest of the parts for my build, and convincing the wife I need to boost another car Look for a thread on my build before long :D

 

I would go with anything ball bearing!
