Ok, I've about had it with my doors swinging shut on me. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could improve the door hold-open detents, so that the doors actually STAY open unless I want them closed? Thanks...

Hope you find something. compaddict 12-24-2003, 02:41 PM If it helps, my new RX-8's doors stay open much better than my first one. I don't know if a change was made or just a tolerance issue is the cause. Vince Omicron 12-24-2003, 03:09 PM Maybe I'll talk to my dealership about it. Hmmm. mikeb 12-24-2003, 03:51 PM good my door always woops my ass MazdaManiac 12-24-2003, 04:14 PM I fid that it stays open really well. The issue is getting it open enough to get to the first detent. I have to practically throw it open with gusto to get it out to the first click. My friends would ask what was wrong and I would just say that I had shin splints from playing ball. I wasn't about to tell them my car was beating me down :) NAVILESRX8 12-26-2003, 12:31 PM Yeah, the door is always banging me up. It sucks, in tight spots I can't open it fully to get out, and if it's anywhere between detents it springs back...and hard. OWW! Omicron 12-26-2003, 02:12 PM Ok, seems to be a common problem. So besides asking our dealerships (which I doubt will be much help, as I think the car is performing "as designed"), how do we go about addressing this? Anyone have any ideas? |
