ok so the first and the least of my worries is my airbag light is on. sometimes it doesn't come on until i've been driving for a while it starts to flash and turns solid. any ideas? Second problem...when braking the rpms suddenly drop to about 400-500 and start to rattle the car a little. Thats really what i'm worried about. I'm scared of it stalling or becoming a bigger problem. and has anyone fixed the cd player skipping problem? I've tried cleaning discs and everything. Went to bill britt mazda in fredericksburg, VA they of course didn't know shit. I had the loss of power recall done a couple months ago.

each different production rx8 has its different problems. If you had an AT i would say the hesitation is easily because of the motor mounts. may still be, but its hard to diagnose "i haz rx8" problems

+1 - kinda vague on the description.

The airbag light could be a loose connection as well. Youtube has a video that helped diagnose the issue. Search it.

Hmm, your car must be a lemon.

Try resetting the ECU so the car can relearn its fuel trims... this may improve idle. key word: may. Airbag could be a loose connection, if its intermittent like you're saying, I would start there. CD Player - I have sat. radio and an aux input cable... those seem to have done the trick.

Go to your local club meet. It has its own seperate section for your area of the country.

I'm sick and tired of answering stupid vauge questions.

Could mean a lot. Engine has low compression? Put some oil? Needs water? Ive had the same problem.

My airbag light does the same thing, had mazda look at it when they did the loss of power recall and they said it was some wires....they also said it would cost like 400 dollars to fix. I dont plan on wrecking my 8 anytime soon so i held off on that and just put up with the annoying light...as for the radio, its a piece of sh*t. Mine skips if i hit a pebble in the road:banghead:. I bought an intergrated ipod adapter from dice electronics and love it...cd quality without the skipping. as for the 2nd problem it may be bad plugs and wires. I had that problem with my old mazda 626 and it was because of a lead trace in my wires. it kept causing misfires...might be your problem but then again those are two totally different engines

My CD player is the same. I got the ipod module but its the piece of shit radio. every big bump you go over it will do that. -__- my guess would be low compression.

I say if the car is "rattling" to check your motor mounts... All CD players skip, I dont even use mine anymore.... Ipod.

Well I got the airbag light to go off i unplugged the airbag connections under the driver and passenger seat and it hasn't come on since. been about 2 months now. As for the low RPM's i'm pretty set on it being the coils i'm just procrastinating on those. It's not a major problem. I'll let you know if it ends up being the coils.
