Polished or Brushed ?, exhaust trim surround, air outlet fins, rotary crest. mr_digital_uk 12-20-2003, 11:21 AM No contest on the black ... polished of course! 8_wannabe 12-20-2003, 11:22 AM I agree with mr digi medwards 12-21-2003, 03:19 AM I just thought that with the wheels being of the "Brushed" type (cannot justify £2K for the polished wheels at the moment), it could look a little odd, with polished bits. But will probably order the polished. thanks for the advice Charleston 12-21-2003, 03:33 AM I would not recommend the exhaust finishers. I have them on my car and they are nearly invisible except from the side. They might look good if surrounded by a painted part of the car but the black plastic hides them. I can get my brushed wheels chromed by a local Mazda dealer who contracts out the work for $1,000 USD, and they are fully warranted. I don't have to worry about damage to the tire pressure monitoring system either. The aero strakes look great polished even on a car with brushed wheels. medwards 12-21-2003, 03:41 AM Thanks Charleston. I was thinking of getting the exhaust trim to "jazz up" the rear end, due to the fact that the car is black (as is the rest of the car). I have only seen the exhust trim in the brochure and it seems to look good. I will go to the dealer and see if he can show me an example of it on the car. I will probably get the wheels polished later. Thanks for your comments. Eric 12-21-2003, 02:39 PM Dear Medwards, Just like Charleston did, we also bought the exhaust finishers, and indeed, they do not really show. When we collected our car last week, I asked my dealer when they would put the finishers on to the car. But they were put on. We have got a Titanium 8, perhaps on your black one they will show better. Something we would like to have, very badly, are doorstepprotectors. Not the first doorstep, but the second (higher) one. It is a step so easy to damage when stepping into the car but to my knowledge, Mazda has nothing for that. If somebody knows anything, please let us know. There are more 8 drivers interested. Easy 12-22-2003, 12:28 PM Pick my black 8 up tomorrow. Gone for brushed aluminium on mine all over as I was worried about the polished losing its cleam after a while on the dirty british roads. Think what ever you go for will look good.....! Easy |
