View Full Version : Engine knocking sauceyI986 03-10-2009, 07:46 PM well today I was driving in traffic and then I just lost all power when going real slow into 2nd gear and my engine had a real bad knocking real loud and also had burnt oil and gas smell with white smoke coming out the pipes. any info as what could be the issue. Also I had another car so it like I've been driving it for a total of 5 months before after the. All the posts I've read of people who got engine replacements are on their 2nd or 3rd new engine. I've never seen someone who got one new engine swap and was set. I replaced my oil last week But for some reason I can't go a good full six months without having any issues with this car. My lil brother has a rx7 2nd gen with 150,000 miles on it a never had the engine replaced and that with crazy driving and all. I saw an ad for a used 2004 RX8 for sale. 107K miles on the car, but only 40K on the engine. Who knows if it will go out in the future, but 40K is on a re-man engine so far.
