I don't know if anyone mentioned this but from the Detroit Auto Show:

In addition to the debut of the Washu, Mazda unveiled its new 2004 RX-8, which is scheduled to begin arriving in Mazda dealerships this summer. In the U.S., the RX-8 will start at U.S.$25,180 equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission. Base MSRP of the 2004 RX-8 with six-speed manual transmission is $26,680. A fully loaded RX-8 with either transmission and every available option, including leather seats, Bose audio, 18-inch tires, moonroof and fog lamps will run approximately $30,000. Canadian prices were not announced.

30 grand fully loaded! I never expected that! WOW! With pricing that aggressive, one would think a Mazdaspeed version would cost as much as a fully loaded 350z (34K). Cough Cough! Could someone say ass woopin.
