Looks like NAV will be of the pop-up variety... I haven't seen that 'lid' above the HVAC display bar before.

On a semi-related note, does anyone else miss the deep black cover over that upper display? It looks cheap now. :(

Cool. Looks like the side curtain airbags will suffice instead of side seatback airbags. The 8 likely has seat-belt pretensioners also. They snug the belt below your hips milliseconds before you take the full brunt of a facial bag deployment, preventing 'submarining' and internal organ damage.

I wonder if side airbags will be an option, like in the Mazda 6.

In germany all airbags will come as standard...

I like the curtain bags. That way I can get some Recaro SRD's in there and still have good side protection. Damn, so many sweet cars out nowadays . . .

I'm glad their standarded cuz they do save lives, including mine in a recent accident.

I hang out there too... I once had a 2000 GTI 1.8T, and will buy another if the RX-8 does not thrill me AND VW gets the coilpack issue resolved.
