Which car is the Superior 05 or 09 RX-8? We have done compared the legendary factory Turbo charged RX-7 of the 90s and the present car. Most felt like that was an apple and oranges comparison.

Which car between the 04-08 is the better vs. 09? The 09 handles better or does it? It has a little more horse power or does it? if it is it doesn't seem noticeable to me. I like the 09 body style a little better shorter and stouter but the interior hasn't changed much since 07-08. Ride and six speed tranny great in all years?

What's your take?

 

theyre all the same...09s r3 is a lil lighter

 

Isn't the gearbox different on the 09s? I herd they tweaked it a little for Better shift points.

they just moved the reverse over to the left side...

 

the 09 SHOULD be better although I havent driven one. Atleats they did a few changes to the renesis. *Should* be more reliable now too

 

The tranny on the 09 is the same of the miata if I remember correctly

 

I think they added a third oil injector in the center of the housing, supposed to have tighter suspension in the R3. and a 4.777 final drive. Small changes but no more horse power.

 

Yep, that 3rd oil injector just has to be of benefit. To Mazda's credit they didn't value engineer anything out, but rather refined some small things. So, if buying today I would go '09 (although I still don't like the looks of that hood-bumper mating lip).

 

Gotta love the 09 l.e.d tail lights though

 

So they have moved the Reverse to the upper left like the european style shifters?

yep. They also relocated the dipstick and oil filter. So it is useful stuff.

 

The 09. Oil injector, trans, and it will have less miles.

 

no the box has been redesigned on that transmission giving the whole unit allot more strength and durability. its a wholly better unit.



09 is the superior car
