I have and 04, Blk/Blk 6sp with 100K and just recently the clutch gave up. First it was a little loose on the pedal then it went to the floor. It happen at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Hit the brakes for a person to walk across and that was it. Could not put in gear after that. Its at the Mazda Dealership getting fixed. Wish me the best.

Fluid low?
Makes me think so since you mentioned brakes also (clutch and brake share the same fluid).

That "loose" feel was the welds giving out on the pedal. They finally snapped on you.
