I'M GOING TO GO SELL MINE BACK TOO, JUST TO BE SURE. Also, that noise is normal. Now quit yelling. :) MazdaManiac 12-15-2003, 03:00 AM OHMYGOD,WHATAMIGOINGTODO?IDON'TWANTTOSELLMYRX-8!ILIKEITTOOMUCH.MAYBE,ICANJUSTSITINMYGARAGEWITHTH ECLUTCHINSOICAN'THEARTHEIMPUTSHAFTSPINNIG,THENIWON THAVETOGIVEITBACKTOMAZDA.MAYBE,WHILEI'MATIT,ICANLE ARNTOUSETHESEARCHFEATUREOFTHISFORUM. As a friendly suggestion, I'd recommend dropping down into lower case when you type in a forum. Regarding the noise, yes I've heard one too. It just sounds like a subtle change in rpm but I've never eyed the tach to confirm this suspicion. It's not a grinding noise or a straining noise or a knocking noise, it's just a different frequency in the hummmmm of the engine; so I've not worried about it. If your noise sounds nasty, get your dealer to check it out (at least that way you've got the problem documented.) Since I'm not able to hear your car over the Internet, I'll assume both our cars make the same noise and I'm banking on the noise I hear being normal or at least of no mechanical significance..... pepe 12-15-2003, 04:31 AM I get this too... bit of a clunk when going into first and second when cold too (I know this because my garage is right at the end of a long row of them in my apartment complex, when I drive out, I get into second:)) Lex 12-15-2003, 04:38 AM Originally posted by FirstSpin ZoomX2 - CAPITAL letters equate to SHOUTING when written in "computer language". Hence the last two responses. HUH? I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, BUDDY! I ALWAYS SPEAK LIKE THIS! EVER SINCE THE BATTERIES ON MY HEARING AID STARTED TO GIVE! I KNOW! I KNOW! I SHOULD GET NEW BATTERIES! BUT REALLY, I'VE BEEN DOING JUST FINE WITHOUT THE HEARING AID LATELY! IN FACT, I KIND OF LIKE IT THIS WAY! CAN'T HEAR ALL THE COMMOTION AROUND ME! FirstSpin 12-15-2003, 04:55 AM Can't hear that annoying change in pitch when you let out the clutch in neutral either :) Sort of like living in that proverbial forest where the tree falls silently when nobody is there. If you can't hear it, it's not happening. I like it. :) ZOOMx2 12-15-2003, 07:19 AM Sorry Lex & Maniac, I wasn't aware of the CAPS thing. I'll tone it down from now on... matt 12-15-2003, 09:16 AM . 93rdcurrent 12-15-2003, 12:24 PM I have also not the clunk going into 1st gear but only the first time when I start to drive. Was this already covered somewhere else? |
