Ok I was in the process of removing my fuel pump but I ran into a problem. I can’t get the ring that holds the fuel pump in place off. Any suggestion? I tried drenching it in wd40 but it won’t come off.
Thanks

Get an extra long screw driver with a wide flat head and a rubber mallet. Put the screwdriver head on one of the lugs and pound (counter clock wise.) It will come off.

Have fun with the fumes.

the fuel rings has very small holes in the top of it--fill them all up with the wd 40---fill slowly---wait a little while---then get big rubber mallet and a very wide and dull chisel and make rapid moderate force hits on it---it will come off---use the ridges on the top of the ring.

something that will distribute the mallet hit a little so you don't end up breaking a tab.. a metal flexible ruler was what was suggested.

yep you have to hit it like a woodpecker would --not real hard ---just fast and constant----almost like an impact wrench would.
