I have had problems with my 8 starting since I bought it. It has been in twice to the service shop at my dealership..with nothing found wrong.
Till yesterday, it took 15 minutes to finally get it going. I phoned my dealership and was very angry. I was told that they just got a fax from head office to recall the RX8 for starter problems.

HAs anyone one else heard this, or had this?...it goes back tomorrow to the dealership for something.

I have not heard of any recall. And, I don't believe it is the case for you. Here is a link to the Service Bulletins:

My guess is that you flooded the car. There are many posts in this forum on the topic.

Thanks for that update...however I have had problems as I stated since "I FIRST bought the car". As most everytime a good start-up takes about 5 seconds.

Again my dealership said my car was being asked to be brought back to fix a problem with start up..not flooding.

the last time I was at the dealership I filled out a three page question form, based on start-up for the RX-8

Zoomblack:

If there is a recall for 8 and a starter issue, can you try to get the recall bulletin from the dealer? I'm sure everyone here would be interested.

Thanks....

Zoomblack how long have you had the car and where are you located. you wrote several things like "head office" instead of headquarters and "phoned" instead of called which infer that you might be in the UK.
