BS is cool, as you know there's a class at just about every Tour or Pro on the schedule, no problem...FS on the west coast? notsomuch...have to wait and see if the SoCal events have more than one or two entries

Eric - Thanks for the heads-up, I'm in for Lincoln and Toledo where John Rogers is planning to co-drive with me again. It's great to see Joe Tharpe and Tim Reinhardt jump into the class from A-stock with Tim's 09' RX-8. The B-stock battle is going to be fierce again this year.

Chris, any chance you and John might make the Finger Lakes NT in '09?

Chike

P.S. When you guys attended the pro solo there last year, did you guys camp or stay at a hotel?

Hey Chike -

It looks like we will be travelling west (Blytheville/Lincoln) and focusing on concrete this year (Toledo/Peru) instead of east to Finger Lakes this year. We had a great time last year at the event (awesome course/site) but it's a long drive for us just to hit another Tour. Did I mention the course was awesome? One of my favorites all year and we had near perfect weather for once !

We stayed in Geneva a 20-30 minute drive north. The Motel 6 was tolerable and you drive past several decent places to eat, grocery store etc along the way.

There likely is no need to rush for Lincoln. Traditionally Pro Solo events in this general central US area are low turnout.

I may be there in someone else's car, possibly Blytheville too.

The Alameda Pro Solo event is now canceled per an email sent from SCCA HQ today to the registered entrants , apparently the Alameda City Council decided the community doesn't need the stimulus activity that this event would have brought them

Sorry to hear about Alameda for you west-coasters.

Just signed up for my first ProSolo.... pumped!
Lincoln is looking good for BS, especially since at least a few others have yet to sign up.

Ivan, Are Getchen ,Katie and Neal coming also? Any more from Mn? You should consider AR to get 2 qualifying events. Tharpe, myself and maybe John Rogers are planning on going there. Chris may have a conflict.

Hey Tim,
Pretty sure Neal and Katie are going as well, Gretchen can't. We have somewhat of a conflict with Blythville, as my Father-in-law is racing at Watkins Glen around then... so we were going to head out there on vacation and hit the Finger Lakes Tour.

But wow, looks like we may have to work Blytheville in, as Toledo is already full.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

If you get on the waiting list (instructions on scca registration page) now I would be pretty sure of getting into the event. Last year Toledo had 31 cancellations in last the month before the event.

Alameda blows, when I was racing bicycles and triathlons, some guy crashed in an event, didn't even break anything just some road rash, and the county froze issuing permits because they thought it was too risky... next thing you know their going to require every one entering the county to wear body armor next time someone gets robbed...

The cancellation isn't really the Alameda council's fault, so much as the time frame to get permits finished and other details wasn't going to work with SCCA's needed lead time. Hopefully, all the preliminary work being done now will pave the way for using what is a wonderful autocross site for a number of years, going forward, but for 2009, it ain't happening.
