Ya, I love this car, but I've had my fun with it and have decided it's time for something different. It does suck about losing out on the invested money, but I've tried to price so that it will sell.....keeping my fingers crossed.

It's plays with the help of the Nav TV unit I have. And I have a toggle switch the switches it from nav to DVD, so i could still look at map when needed i guess.

The slim ps2 fits good in the glove box.

no...lol....my local shop, tintmasters, did it. I'm friends with the guys there, and from what they've told me it's, it sucks to wire up.

Haha, ok. Yeah I was just thinking of taking to a local part shop and having it done. Really?! Ah now I'm all excited, haha. I was all bummed when I found out it doesn't play actual DVD's, so this is awesome. :)

Actually have a sale pending....just trying to take a few extra measures to make sure it's not scam and that there is not any kind of fraud going on.

He will be sending money, and arranging for shipping, being that he is in NY. Just trying not to get screwed over with the whole payment thing and stuff.

So far, I've asked for a certified bank check from one of the banks that we also have here in town, for example Wells Fargo or US Bank. And then once the funds have been verified by a bank manager, then I will allow for the car to leave my custody.

Any suggestions on other precautions that should be considered? He is not someone on this site ( I don't think), however I'm sure this thread is how he found out about my car.

none to my knowledge....we don't use much salt on our roads. Minnesota uses alot though. And the car doesn't get driven to often when snow is on the ground. The toyos don't exactly grip the snow...lol

In having bought a car online before (ebay) make sure that you have ALL and i mean ALL the responsibility go on the shipping truck once it leaves your custody and take pictures, and it also helps if there is a car cover because of the distance, some have little hidden remarks saying not responsible for damage. and your smart in waiting for funds to clear, make sure he knows your going to wait for that as well so he doesnt think he is getting ripped :) and when you mail the title to him, do certified mail with a return receipt for signature.

I now switched back again. I had new brake pads put on last june. A few recalls a couple years ago and reflash last year. Also clutch pedal assembly was replaced about 10k miles ago.

I originally was thinking of going to Cali for the seven stock event but I have now scheduled work over that weekend. Now I'm planning on going down there over the weekend of Oct 16th for the Formula D event. I'm not planning on bringing my car unless I have an actual SERIOUS buyer with funds available. I will not be bringing my 8 for someone to just take a look at it. No offense, but even in town I've had people waste my time and it's just annoying. But if you or someone else has the money available, I would gladly deliver the car on this date.

I'm also willing to deliver the car any other date if the buyer wants to pay for gas and a plane ticket for me to get back.... :) I have class mon -thurs, so I have enough time most weekends.

Hey man that's a sick rx8. I used your car to get an idea for my two-tone paint job on my rx8. I ended up selling it. and guess what I moved into a 350Z! I loved my 8, but the 350Z's are just so much better. If it's got similar miles and in the same condition, I'd say take the trade...you'll love the Z i'm sure! GL!
