Hey guys I recently got my headlights replaced and am looking for a clear protective film to protect them from chips and scratches. Do the clear films from Lamin-x alter visability for HID's? I know with some of the smoked ones this is an issue. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the really thick 3M stuff on my headlights. You cannot tell they're installed unless you look closely at the edges.

I had the Tinted headlights. They were okay. I had them on during Sevenstock. The light output was bad. Unless you drive mostly in city where there are more lights to help light up the road. Driving them thru dark areas are very hard. Good luck!

i used to have 20% tint on my headlights.
it reduced light output by 50% at least.
(i know the math doesnt add up, but it really killed light output.)

Yeah I am planning on getting clear ones. I don't really want tint, I just want to protect my new headlights that just got replaced.

The clear shouldn't be a problem, might throw off the straight line at the top of the HID projection though. With tinted headlights at first I had a problem with visibility, then i adjusted the bulbs to shine up more, trust me they don't blind people, and now I can see great!

Thanks. Can anyone verify this about the clear ones? Thanks.

^^Well if you put an film on the headlights...the lightout will not be so clean cut. Hardly be noticable. Just my two cents.

I've got the yellow tint and can't really tell a difference in light output.

How easy are these to apply without air bubbles? Do you have to remove the headlight to do it?

no you dont. and on a small surface like the headlights bubbles arent a problem at all.
