I was in a rush today, and I took my car to a local transmission shop for an oil change, because they do everything perfectly, they're a great bunch of guys, and I have to literally force money on them to change my oil (I provide the oil and filter - one of the reasons I take it there; I DO NOT want just any oil and a cheapy filter at a Quick Oil Change Place).

Anyways, they get me in and out in 15 minutes anyways, and they always hoist my car and give it true visual inspection for any signs of corrosion, loose plugs, or any other damage.

And then they try to refuse accepting a measly $10 for their trouble.

So, I forgot to get my receipt today. I have my oil changed every 3,000 to 3,200 miles at most.

Should I call them and have them print a receipt for me and pick it up tomorrow so I have it in my paperwork in case any warranty claim comes up in the future?

Even with not getting this receipt, I can prove a 6k interval, which is still within manual specs for oil change interval.

in theory if you have reciepts for the oil and filter whats the difference between having someone do it and if you did it yourself. If you do the changes yourself it shouldn't mess with your warranty. I doubt it would be an issue.

Keep a repair book in your car, everytime you do a change write it in there, anytime anything gets done write it in the book and your covered. In the end the only time a question will come up related to your engine is if they do warranty work on it and they find things such as your oil being black and dirty. I do all my work myself and keep it in a book, just keep track of those things on your own and they cant argue becuase there are lots of do it yourself people out there.

Dont even worry about it. If a dealership says "we wont honor your warranty because we cant prove you changed your oil between 21 and 24 thousand miles because you don't have receipt for that single oil change" MANO would bitch slap them into next week the moment they heard about it.

I was just paranoid b/c of the thought of having warranty claim regarding the motor at some point in the future, and being required to produce proof that all oil changes were done.

I have a folder in my glove box that contains all receipts for maintenance and oil changes for this very reason.

I do all my own oil changes lost my Engin on my AT Mazda and the dealer gave me a new one no questions asked. Now I have a MT and do all my own work.
