this pertains to the switch to right next to the drivers seat, not the on the remote...

it snowed recently where i was, and being the first snow, i accidentally got snow inside my car, all along the inner side of the ledge (next to the seat, in the footwell, and on the trunk release switch.

the trunk may have been frozen shut with ice too

the problem is, the trunk release switch now does not seem to work at all... trunk only opens by key now (havent checked remote).

is this something that only happens when the switch gets wet?

is the switch electric or hydraulic? should i worry about the fact that it might be wet?

thanks

Have you checked that you haven't somehow tripped the trunk release disabler in the glove box? If you turn off the remote via the glovebox, the trunk will not open except with the key.

Yep, even for the switch in the footwell. They both use the same opener mechanism.

There's no switch on the floor for the trunk...

The lever on the floor to the left of the drivers seat is to open the gas tank cover.

The trunk is opened by the push-button just above where the hood-open lever, on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel, or via the remote control. If the override switch in the glovebox is activated, both those mechanisms don't work and you will need to use the key in the lock.

Well, I do not know if others with option packages have a trunk release beside the seat, but my trunck release in down below tht worthless change compartment on the dash.

As stated by others, the lever on the floor is to release the gas cap cover.;)
