Hi folks!

The purpose of this thread is to collect supportive information to help us (well me mostly) produce a RX8 video in British Columbia. "A show case piece" of both the RX8 and the lovely fall environment of British Columbia.

Locations:
I want to collect good locations across the lower mainland to collect film footage.
Like this:
Location: Portman Bridge
Scene: Driving over the crest, NE viewing shot of lower mainland at sunset, or at night.

Location: Vancouver: West 7th, between Quebec and Manitoba street
Scene: This is cherry blossom central. It snows pink pedals 2 months of the year.

Location: Burnaby: Caribou Road: driving from 10th to 16th
Scene: Sunset: The autum trees almost fill a view, which is a view of burnaby mountain across a valley stretching with the sunset colors

Location: Iowna Island: The small road that runs against the ocean
Scene: Sunrise or Afternoon: The RX8 drives lit up, against the darker contrast of the blue ocean behind it

Location: Kitsolino Beach to Spanish Banks
Scene: a popular time of day to capture glimpses of the many Vancouver-beautiful people on the beach.

Location: Stanley Park: The narrow road that runs around the sea wall.
Scene: (Hard to do on one lane road) A shiny RX8 drives in the shadow, reflecting the ocean scene and the bright autumn tree colors overhead - over it's body (Does this sound like a sexual explicit story board to anyone else?... hmm must be my imagionation)

Ok and the next question would be:
Which of our Car Club members would like to do this?
No offense to our stock club (me included) but we should showcase an RX8 that has a distinctive front bumper. Personally, I'd prefer Dan's car because of it's sound (Turbo) and it's awesome new look. Second choice for me would be Michael, Ray, Daniel or Collin's car.

What are your thoughts?
Of course, the one car that is to be selected would of course go through our club shine workshop for free (Least I can do).

The distinctive bumper is still in the works...and my car doesn't really represent an RX-8 anymore really. If it was me I'd go with a color selection of more stock cars to truly represent our club and the RX-8

My stock frontend would be going exactly the same speed as Dan's - on the Port Mann Bridge in rush hour!!!

Lol.

Sounds like a great idea, and kudos to you for coordinating this project.

If you say so Mr.Dan.
I do retain my own humble perspective of your car. Nothing more needs to be said about that ;)

I'll ask around see who's interseted, starting with Burnaby RX8.
I might consider Scott's car too, if he get's his sick red/black wheels installed, Oh yeah!

Swan E-Set golf club has some spectacular fall scenery. If you have been there, the entry drive leads to a ~1km serpentine road around a gentle hill.

I'm down to go anywhere.

My wheels are getting installed tomorrow afternoon Tim.

Also, FYI: My girlfriend is getting the new Nikon D90 camera.. Its the only SLR to be able to shoot HD video, it will help if she gets it before the shoot, but no promises :(

Damn you guys are so awesome, I'd just come out to see all this being filmed if I could!

Gyrobot, you have amazing artistic abilities, and a true appreciation of beauty in many forms! What you wrote was not only sexual, it leaves people in a state of elation! :)

We're... "negotiating with the snow" right now.
Once the snow is gone, we'll be resuming our filming.

We did do one more club video and you can see it on our main webpage at the bottom. (It's the second mini-video feed)

Also, we'll be upgrading our "filming" equipment.... haha, what I mean is, I'll be getting a real video recorder, instead of using my digital camera hahahaha.

Cheers!

(If we get enough members on the island, I'm sure we can "branch out". There's definitely room on our website to handle multiple locals and group calenders.

Come out for one of our upcoming events!

There is a show and shine event on the 10th under "Timothy's Calendar".

Yup, you are right, we don't have events listed in 2009 yet. We haven't had our official 2009 events meet yet.

Ha.... that could be the first official event of the year. So funny.
I think we have a Go_Kart day in January someone planned... we'll see.
Hey what do you think of the websites new look?

eeeehhhh? I didn't know about this xD. With the scenes you've described it sounds like it would be a Mazda ad for the Rx-8 lol!! Would be amazing to capture those scenes with HD film with some color saturation- would look like a feature film! There needs to be a scene with the snow capped mountains in the background tho =3.

Took these today, day two of the new facelift. I'm pretty stoked but I'm not much of a photographer and I'm using a 3.1 mega pixel camera so.....What I need is someone with the knowhow and the tools to do the car justice.:uhh:

No you wouldn't, there should still be slushy snowy crap around then..

I'm dreaming that it will all be gone, but who knows.

Come by whenever and I'll take some shots of your ride :)
