Tie rod/toe link replacement and now bearing???
Tie rod/toe link replacement and now bearing???
Okay, I was an idiot and took a curve too fast when it was a little wet out, spun about 90 degrees, and went over a curb, hard.
I'm still making the adjustment from 12 years of a front-wheel drive four-cylinder to my new baby, and I blew it that night. Anyway, I got lucky and only had a bent tie rod. At least, my neighbor with a stormy blue '08 said that's what it was, and the garage replaced it and did an alignment. They called it a toe link, rear driver's side. The rim has a hell of a gouge in it, which I'm leaving there to remind me not to be a butthead again.
My question now is that I'm hearing a loud humming/tire/road noise from the back. I called the garage back (not a Mazda place because I was told it wasn't necessary for something "simple" like this, but now I'm wondering because they were all in awe and said that I'm the only person they know with this car!) and they said it could be a bearing got damaged and the noise will keep getting worse. PLEASE, any advice or info would be much appreciated. I think it's all in my head, but I thought the whole frame just feels a little looser somehow, but I haven't had a chance to drive that much since the repair plus I'm so hypersensitive to everything now that I can't even be sure, plus I only had the car for a month before I did this and so really didn't know the feel of it inside and out yet anyway. Thanks in advance for any help... please be kind, I'm beating myself up plenty, daily. lol
