A few months ago I took my 8 into the dealer and had them take care of the applicable TSBs.....one of which was the sunroof rattle.

They replaced the guides (rails) and everything seemed fine for a month or two, but now the rattle is back. Has anyone else had this same issue? What did you do the second time around? The dealer has an entire new sunroof assembly on order for me now.

exact same thing happened to me. The dealership replaced my sunroof and then 3-4 months later the rattling / creeking noises returned.

Go down to an auto Parts store or walmart and get a can of White Lithium grease. I sprayed the hell out my sunroof rails (opening and closing the sunroof in between spraying) and it seems to have completely eliminated the rattles.

My theory is that the new rails work very well but they're simply not lubricated properly. Either that or the grease is just drying out over a few months.
