View Full Version : Re-Amemiya Body Kit Info
mightyzeek 04-22-2003, 03:04 PM I was curious on whether Amiyama was making body kits and accessory kits, their stuff is absolutely marvelous. Could anyone possibly shed some light on the subject, I just can't seem to find info anywhere on the subject?
neofreak 04-22-2003, 06:23 PM yes, someone posted a sketch of the RE Super G8 a while back.
RE stuff is great.. I've got a bunch of his aero parts on my FC. =)
TpCpLaYa 05-11-2003, 07:12 PM Hey boys, ive been browsing around here just now and i have seen that no one has put anything down about this kit. Im a regular at the 7 forums but just wanted to share something with you guys. This seems to be just a drawing but its by a respectable tuner so it just might make its way to production. also check out http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=185367
for some more nice 8 pics.

Cihuuy 05-22-2003, 02:06 PM its in development...
Cihuuy 05-22-2003, 02:11 PM another...
Cihuuy 05-22-2003, 02:14 PM this is their exhaust... nice??

Cihuuy 05-22-2003, 02:16 PM last one...
Beemer 05-22-2003, 05:02 PM That's the nicest RX-8 bodykit I've seen yet. I think a front licence plate will look much better on this front than inside the original air intake.
dreamgetter1 05-22-2003, 06:15 PM Nice exhaust kit!!:)
front bumper looks gooood
takahashi 05-26-2003, 01:01 PM Did I see a white 8?
Renesis08 05-27-2003, 12:47 PM Yes you did :D .

Stock = beauty and function.
Aftermarket generally = weight and inefficiency.
Just looks... not worth it.

dude chill out, aftermarket bodykits are functional by respected tuners. they are not necessarily inefficient - I think you should really research this before you make a judgement that generalizes all of the automotive aerodynamic industry like that. they are to enhance the character of the car and provide killer looks to go with the killer engine the 8 has

However, the majority of the body kits available for ANY car *do* just add weight and simply give the car a different look. Now whether you choose to put those on your car, that's your business.
I just find it useless unless the kit weighs less than the stock car, because the entire purpose behind the rotary and the RX lines of cars, is to be lightweight. Adding weight by 'kitting' the car will just make handling and accelleration both decrease.
And 'tuners' generally prepare the body kits that will make their car most effective. Which is why if you look at the tuner made cars, some of them (Dinan for BMW comes to mind) will never use 'kits' as they serve no purpose for the needs, and others (Veilside) will kit up the car like crazy because they are trying to 'sell' an image.
Either way, very few and far between will you find a 'kitted' car that is better than a stock car, without engine or suspension upgrades. It's 99.9% of the time, just for looks and that's fine... if you've made your car really good in the aftermarket sometimes it serves that you want to make your car 'look' as fast as it is. But if your engine is stock and you kit your car -- you've effectively made it a poorer car than what you had in the beginning.
crouzer 05-29-2003, 01:14 AM Boring.
Absolutely killed the beauty and originality of the stock front end.
Sure its big enough to slap a big ole intercooler in there, but now it looks like every other car on the road.
But then I don't care for most kits.
Aeterna 06-01-2003, 10:23 PM Now, now kids let's all play nice. This is a forum, not a NAZI rally replete with 'stock' Gestapo vs. 'aftermarket' resistance.
Everyone here is entitled to an opinion. There are valid points for either, depending on what effect one is trying to achieve. We can discuss, we can debate, we can talk, but let us not ARGUE. Leave that sort of talk in the sandbox.
said7 06-04-2003, 05:01 PM Kit looks sweet!
Can't wait to see this one finished and what other companies are gonna do.
select 06-17-2003, 01:18 PM Yes they are making a front facia, rear wing, & header just to name a few... Here is the link http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/sub_win/rx_8_88.html
DA-Rx8 06-21-2003, 03:00 AM wow that looks really nice
looks like just a bigger s2000 to me.
fd3s800 06-24-2003, 01:25 PM I like it without the fog light
moogle 06-25-2003, 12:18 AM looks like a Lexus sc400 but it looks much nicer.
The Beav 06-25-2003, 12:57 AM i like the front facer, but i still believe the mazdaspeed one is better, the fog lights built in was a bit much for me
wakeech 06-25-2003, 01:06 AM the fog lights aren't a bad idea, they're just a really ugly, boring shape... granted, it's hard to find off-the-shelf sculpted fog lights, and it's very expensive to design a reflector (and have it all approved and everything) for a specific bulb size... it could be worse though.

well we could just go without foglights if we got the re front facer, did he ever think of that
Beemer 06-25-2003, 03:14 AM Why does that exhaust manifold have 3 pipes?? Are they making a 3 rotor renesis??
wakeech 06-25-2003, 08:29 AM ...no, because of the side-port exhaust layout, there are two exhaust ports per rotor, and the middle two coming out of the intermediate housing are siamesed, which equates to three holes "out".

it's a stylistic preference... i think it'd look really boring without something there to put a crease through the smooth bit of the nose.
Igoslow 06-26-2003, 01:52 PM Their dolphin exhaust looks good as well. Wondering if it's made of TI or SS. anyone know? cost?

They offer both models for the FD3S, so perhaps the SE3P will get the same.
Lock & Load 11-13-2003, 01:04 AM Can anyone help me? I am looking for a LARGE RE Amemiya logo.
Could you please attach the picture but if it is too large can you please post the address.
Thanks
Michael
98TypeR 11-14-2003, 03:01 AM I got the green if you got the kit, looking for non-foglight front. please leave an email address to contact.
vaughnc 11-14-2003, 06:36 PM They're located here under the goods section on RE Amemiya's website in the left dropdown box. I believe they're on page 7 or so.
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/shopping/
Note our US importer Aerodyne Industries can order this for you if you can't navigate their shopping cart.

Lock & Load 11-14-2003, 07:40 PM Thanks

Just cut and paste it into babel fish
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr
that way this...
エンブレム 赤/金
becomes...
Emblem red/gold
[don't bother trying to do the full page bit]
Lock & Load 11-14-2003, 10:57 PM kev
Thanks tried the babel approach with no luck F*&%$#@@ Japanese.
vaughnc 11-15-2003, 12:11 AM That's why I recommended Aerodyne, they speak Japanese.
Efini 8 11-15-2003, 07:20 AM no one I believe, it is extremely hard to get. If anyone can get it, it would be Tony Yeh from RotaryXecret7 (www.rxecret7.com)... Apparently I believe RE Amemiya parts are made by hand, not sure if they have begun production. I think they have...
Wolverine 11-16-2003, 10:16 AM Try this link....
http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com/catalog-searchresult.php?make=24
Jt-Imports 11-16-2003, 09:33 PM RE-Amemiya has it in stock. Usually take 1 week to have it made if they run out of stock, which they may since they just finished the rest of it for public buying
My bad, i missed the in the US thing...
9-K Rever 11-30-2003, 05:26 PM What do you think of the RE-AMEMIYA body kits and and spoilers for the RX8....here are the links.
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/rx_8/rx_8/s_rx_8_facer.html

http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/rx_8/rx_8/s_rx_8_gt3_spo.html
The spoiler is awsome but I don't know about paying $1800 bucks for it...but it is carbon fiber...
Omicron 11-30-2003, 06:12 PM Don't mind the front ends, but IMHO, the spoiler is WAY too much. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
panda 12-01-2003, 12:18 AM hehe the spoiler is kinda large, i think if it was maybe evened out with the kit it would be allright, the spoiler on its own would be a lil too big for my liking, but with a kit it would be nice,
andrew
9-K Rever 12-01-2003, 08:25 AM One thing I can say about Amemiya products, they are designed to enhance performance or he wouldn't make them. I can almost promise you that wing spent some time in a wind tunnle and on a track before it was put up for sale. (wich all wings should) But, my issue is that it cost $1800 :(
takahashi 12-01-2003, 09:01 AM :( ME WANT A WHITE RX8
RE AMEMIYA IS GOOD BODY KIT

this is true....
wakeech 12-02-2003, 04:15 AM considering that it's a direct design copy of the high-speed element that are retrofitted to all JGTC cars at a relegated height, with relegated end plates and hardware etc, this wing is far from optimized for the RX-8.
it doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't look good, either. the hardware seems heavy (overkill), especially for the application.
being that this is 95% an aethetic upgrade, a look-alike that's lighter and cheaper is a better bet than the real thing (which, even in terms of legitimate application isn't necessarily your best bet for that amount of money anyways)
jc20b 12-02-2003, 05:42 AM They do make kick arse products come at a price well worth it thoug hhave you seen there race rx8?

Where did you get that info? If you can read the Japanes on the site that wing is being developed for Re-amemiya's Super 8 N/A rotary competion series. That wing is NOT just an ethstetic upgrade.
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/rx_8/
Rotary Extreme 12-02-2003, 01:28 PM That wing is truly functional. We installed an RE Amemiya GT II wing on our 3rd Gen RX7 project car and took it up to 150 mph. The car is much more stable at high speed.
The wing on the rx8 is the street spec GT III wing. If you want the racing spec that's used on the JGTC RE Ammeiya RX7, we can also import that one for you.
The price will be the following:
GT II carbon fiber wing: $1580
GT III carbon fiber wing: $1680
GT III fiberglass wing: $1380
It takes about 4 weeks to arrive from Japan. Thank you.

I think this front is about the nicest I've seen, especially since they made use of the fog lamps, that it semms others don't utilize. Correct me if I"m wrong, but the MS front end never shows the fog lamps.
mikeb 12-03-2003, 02:55 AM you can buy brackets with the ms kit for foglights
9-K Rever 12-03-2003, 07:58 AM You are right, I have never seen headlamps on the Mazda Speed..
