Today was the first time I test drove the 8 and they did a credit check on me and so on. My question is I rev the car @ 9000 rpm and it has 8 miles on odometer will it hurt the engine because it hasn't hit break in? Had my fun but was wondering if I ruined some other guy who is going to buy it.

Sorry for the newb question. Can someone answer?

Yes, you ruined the engine! I pity the fool who buys that car! May you spontaneously combust! :D

well, if you rev'd it to 9000 and held it there for about an hour, then yeah, you may have done bad things. otherwise, provided the engine was warmed up, reving up to that point for a second or two won't do nothing!

(though that spontaneous combust is amusing)

Well, I've waited for too long, the test drive that is. Was going to go yesterday but figured with snow and ice it would not be a good time to try it. My dealer has about 20 in stock, most likely have one I like.......hell, I'm sure I will like them all. And I kept telling myself to wait until the 2005 model but.........why?

I originally wanted the Red, yellow, or blue in that order but after looking at BrotherVodoo's car pics, I want a Tit with the chap leather. Nice look! Now I have to drive the 6mt and the auto, my wife doesn't really like stick, but hey, its my mid life crisis car anyways.

Any suggestions on a test drive, as in what will impress me the most? Not too many nice 2 lane country roads near the dealer. And I won't try a 9k clutch drop either.

I'll report back after I buy it..........I mean drive it.

We had a guy red line the car on a test drive and the car shut down on him lol And I would be scared to do a 9G drop....scary scary. Ive seen cars come in with redline drops that ripped the tranny to pieces. I guess when you shear the teeth off the gears it doesnt work to well. lol
