Here's a quick how to.
Drop the coilover out and remove the plate that secures the side of the top hat.
You can then get to the strut.
I used 1/4" Fuel Injection hose (stronger), filed out the inside a bit to get it started over the top adjuster. This was for JIC coilovers.

Simple to do, and otherwise, you can't adjust the dampning of the coilovers without dropping them in the rear!
