I'm up in the Puget Sound region, living on the outskirts of Auburn, working downtown Seattle.

Placed my order yesterday, but haven't heard from dealers yet.. I'm thinking about sending email to every Mazda dealer in a 25 mile radius, simply to try and get a response from somebody...

Hey, I'll check in with a shout from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Won't be getting my RX-8 for at least a year.

Just a suggestion, don't forget to try some dealerships in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene. I know Miatas and sports cars are not huge sellers here due to a relatively lower income and bad winter driving.

I have dealt with Post Falls Mazda for many years, they are a top rated dealership and can likely provide a good deal with friendly service.

In Spokane, I'd try Foothills Lincoln Mercury Mazda and Appleway Mazda in that order.

Maybe Boise too? That's pretty far I'd guess.

Hope you find a great deal!

I live in Tacoma. Just finished up my deal at Russ Dunmire Mazda. My order has been confirmed by Mazda and I have a confirmation number. I can't wait (again). I did talk to Mazda NA today. They said that individuals who order under the pre-sale program will receive a series of e-mails so you won't have to keep bothering the dealership (who probably won't know anything anyway) about your car. They said you would receive an e-mail:
1. When the orde is received and processed at Mazda NA
2. When the factory accepts the order
3. When the factory assigns a VIN to your vehicle.
4. When build is complete and car is released.
5. When the vehicle hits the port of entry.

That will be cool. I hope it works out that way.

I still haven't heard anything from Sound Mazda in Renton (where we bought our Miata), the dealer I initially specified in the order process... I also emailed the Online/Fleet Sales guy at Milam Mazda in Puyallup, but haven't heard from him.

I went back into the Build&Order section on the Mazda website, and changed the dealer to Fugate Mazda out in Enumclaw, and got a helpful response, so I'll probably go that route..

Hey, 3Rotor, who did you talk to at Mazda NA? I checked the online FAQ (at the beginning of the Build&Order), and it seems to indicate that if a dealer doesn't have allocations available, then you have to wait until general availability.. I don't really want to wait that long.. Maybe I'll send a note to rx8orders@mazdausa.com, as specified in the FAQ...

when i was having my doubts about my dealer last week i talked to a guy at mazda NA customer service named charlie. ask for him. he was a big help and called the dealer for me and got me thru to someone who actually knew what was going on. i'm sure he can help you. remember that today is the last day to get a car ordered in the first may-july allocation. so if you want one soon, call today!

Jumpin' in from Pullman, WA. I've never owned a rotary car, but I'll seriously look at the 8 in the next few years, once I've been out of college for a while and the loans are payed down a bit. It's a gorgeous car, and it has pretty much everything I want/need. Can't wait to see what the aftermarket cooks up for it (turbos? supers?)!

Do you guys have any Idea how much you are gonna have to pay for your cars?

$31,100... MSRP for mine! yeah! Got it at University Mazda in Seattle. Drove 1 1/2 hours to get there (live across the water in Bremerton), but hey... it was worth it! Besides, they actually called me and wrote me back the same day i made the request on mazdausa.com. Put $1,000 down as deposit and ordered Sunday (Feb. 9th... my birthday...) Talk about a great B-Day present! Gonna have to be kissing up to the wife for years for this one... might even let her drive it! (might)

hey everyone,i guess i am the furthest north here coming from anchorage.i went to the dealer here yesterday and ordered a blue 6 speed with gt package and accent package.this car was already a dealer alot car and had a eta build date of last month but still allowed him to change the color and options for what i wanted.i am very excited about this car but am also worried that it will take forever to get here.looks like im the only one that did not order online and the dealer said it should come in by august week 2 but after reading on this forum that cars on the water wont be to dealers entill july week 3 im not to sure that will happen.i guess good things come to those who wait.

Hello all, good to hear all of the excitement about getting you own RX-8, I could not be more pleased. I live in Seattle and bought mine off the lot at Glen Grant Mazda in Burien, where I might add they have about 8 in stock, price as marked was 38,000 for the full meal deal minus the Navigation System. Got them worked down to 33,000 by simply refusing to pay the "Market Markup" and drove it off the lot for 31,000 even. This is the MT model, black on black, gorgeous car, best car have ever driven and this coming from someone who just lost a Jaguar X-Type 3.0 in a divorce. Can't go wrong. If you visit Glen Grant let me know and I will drop my name to you so you can drop it to Glen Grant, ask for Gary! Good luck all.

Just purchased an '04 Nordic Green MT/GT from Lee Johnson in Kirkland. Giving up my beloved '94 VTEC Honda Prelude (no room in the garage with other vehicles.) Looking forward to having a "real" sports car again. (Last was a 240Z that lasted many, many years.)

Would be interested in hearing from others, especially anyone whose other passions include motorcycles.

Howdy. Just picked up my black rx-8 this weekend. Best damn 4 wheel vehicle I have ever owned! I am fairly new to sport cars. My 4-wheel experience to date has been fairly practically oriented. The RX-8 is the closest i have come to the joy I get riding motorcycles. The sound is just intoxicating! I find I late shift all the time just to hear the engine! My gas milage is going to suck....

I'm a newbie to the rotary world and I'm looking into trading in my 2002 Honda Civic Si (lightly modded and extremely slow) for an RX8. I am getting medically discharged from the service after breaking my back during a training op so I would like to find something that I can drive and enjoy as kind of a "thanks for serving" deal to myself. I would like to meet up with some of the local guys (I work at McChord, live in Des Moines, and find myself in Yakima almost every weekend) to see what you guys are doing with yours. My soon to be wife and I are a big fan of the body styling and handling of these cars, it's our favorite so far from test driving all kinds of stuff from Evo's, S2k's, BMW 3 series, Audi TT's and on and on. I really think this would be the project car to have.
