So, some things have come up since my soon to be owner thread. The people I have to pass through to buy my car (Parents) as I still live with them. feel that the 8 isn't a dependable vehicle at all. mainly because the rotary isn't your typical piston engine I guess. and the fact that you don't see many on the road

the car in question is a

2004 winning blue, MT

all recalls done 50,000 miles on the body and the refurb engine put in around 30,000 I believe

is there a way I can convince them otherwise? Charts, articles, anything would help

stay away from the 04's. If you got an 06 then you should be ok.

^yeah but he should be fine with the remanufactured engine. It's my understanding that they are updated....? Someone else maybe can confirm this.

The rotary is dependable as long as you take care of it and add oil when it needs it. Drive it hard and it will love you. BTW, rotaries are far more superior than a piston engine. My opinion of course.... ;)

yeah I have an '04, original owner, drive it like I stole it, keep it well lubed, and always warm it up before driving anywhere. I currently have 74K miles on it and it runs just as good as the day I bought it(knock on wood), actually better now that Ive done alot of mods to it...
Yeah your gonna get that from most people whom arent familiar with the rotary, it is however a maintainence car, but you can take pride in it with looking after it the right way...
Besides you can tell them this and that it will show you can take responsibility for something...
convincing material- how about engine of the year for three years straight... And still one of Jeremy Clarksons favorite cars ever without changing much...
