I just got my RX8 last week and i was wondering is it possible to change the orange led in the dash board, steering wheel and the doors.

Doors.......easy
Dash....not so easy
Steering.......not so easy

Spend some time and do some searches, there are a tons of threads about interior lighting.

About the dash I want to do the same but it's very difficult - you must change all the tiny leds one by one with the ones of your colour preference. But I hate this red lighting of the dash, blue would be so much better (and much my black light gauges hehe) If someone more into this stuff want to be a volunteer and try to make a diy then I would try it.

Before my rx8, i had a celica. I have changed the stock dash and cluster gauge color which involved soldering tiny LEDs and it was successful. wanted to know if any of you guys done it and have a pictures of it.

Yeah............Lurch did it..............I think one of the threads is called "I'm so blue".

I'm going to do it eventually(The dash and gauges), I just haven't had time yet.

Here's two of them!

Thanks for all your help. I saw what he did and it was great. The LEDs that he used were a little bigger than the one i used for my celica. How many LEDs do you guys think i need in order to change the dash and cluster gauge.

Mazurfer....off topic question....Where did you get the rx8 image with blinking lights at the buttom of you post?

Bunso_Rx8, if you finally do this it would be nice to share some info or write a small diy with some photos. I really want to get rid of this red lighting.

Don't mean to be an @ss, but I can't tell you anything other than I figured out a way to do it. It's not hard, but a lot of people got pissed(not at me) as everyone started to have them. I was in pretty early, so I kept it when others went a different direction. So............I don't think I will devulge........sorry.

BUT............if I ever pull the dash and change all the LED's, I will for sure do a DIY as I've been wanting to do that for a long time.

Both Bunso_Rx8 and Mazurfer it would be great to make a DIY for this, I am not so much experienced working with leds and I wouldn't try this without a direction from someone.
