I have done some upgrade to my 2006 rx8:

SR High low cat
SR Pulley kits
AEM cold air intake
Prolite ACT flywheel
custom Exhaust

the question is that do i have to re-tune a car for a proper fuel injection( with an after market ECU). if I do, does anyone tell me which aftermarket ECU i should buy.

you should be fine with those mods. You really don't need to retune anything based on the mods above.

There is no aftermarket ECU for the RX-8, just ways to change the calibration. There are piggy back systems which override some of the stock programming OR you can get an AccessPort and have someone change the parameters for you.
Again, neither is necessary for you at this point, just a heads up

None of those mods require retuning. Of course, that isn't saying anything about the state of the tuning that Mazda delivers with the vehicle to begin with.
Then again, none of those mods made any real change to your airflow (and therefore, your power).
The AEM is nice because of the lower IATs, but it doesn't really do much with the CAT still in the way.

for what just said is that , I haven't increase any HP or airflow after putting all those mods. beside turbo, what else could i do to increase power and performance :)

nitrous
high flow cat or midpipe might free up a few horses

have any one try either the piggy back systems or AccessPort, does it make any difference to the 8. the guy at shop told me that he can install the Piggy back systems(APEXI) for me for about 750.00. which one is better.??

Deleting the CAT and retuning via re-flash will give you the biggest bang, short of forced induction/nitrous.

what is wrong with the High Flow cat pipe. I still want my car to be a street legal( less noise than the straight pipe:banghead: )

Nothing is "wrong" with it. It just isn't as good as a CAT-deleted pipe with a resonator or two.

even a lot of highflow cats arent street legal everywhere...

one of the advantages of tuning adjustments with the Access Port is in removing the CAT protection.. aka a bunch of extra fuel dumped under certain conditions to keep the CAT cool as rotaries have notoriously high exhaust temps.

if you arent TOTALLY concerned with sheer performance and exhaust flow, you can always gut out the OEM CAT.... the volume level is not noticable different, just a slight change in tone.

for power, not much... turbo, super, nitrous, cat delete/reflash are the only cost effective options. you can spend hundreds/thousands in other bolt ons and not see as much gain as you would frmo just removing the cat and tuning

you could also look at ways to be more effecient with the power the motor already makes.... remove weight, ESPECIALLY rotating mass... flywheel and clutch assemblies, light wheels, etc...

suspension... sway bars have little to no noticable effect on the smoothness of a ride(like springs sometimes can), but offer substantial gains in cornering and reducing body roll

thank you. I want to go for turbo... but not now... short on budget . :squint:

take a look here... old thread and no longer relevant, well kinda. but it will give you an idea how fast it really adds up. that is just basic stuff also, it doesnt count on breaking a thing or two during install, or connectors, and odds-n-ends... i recall someone saying they ended up $1000 over budget due to just odds-n-ends
