mazdatrix.com has the brembo's, but i dont know if they are just protoypes
or if they are actually for sale, i havnt seen them on any cars apart from some of the pics from sema.....

i think stoptech are the way to go. well, i am saying this based on experience with other cars.

brembos are much more expensive, and i am not so sure if the gap in the price justifies better performance, if any.

i really like brembo's, the quality is amazing, i have nevr used stoptechs so i dont know what they are like.....but brembos are really amazing brakes

You know what, though - the stock RX-8 brakes are also really amazing brakes. The RX-8 with the sport/GT brake package stops shorter than a 350Z with the Brembo brake package.

Smokin, there are a few threads that discuss the pros and cons of big brake kits for the 8. See if you can find those, they have some excellent points in them.

well, if i remember correctly the 8 weighs considerably less than the Z. i was more concerned with comparison of stock 8 brakes vs. big brake upgrade.

also, it is not necessarily the distance that is the issue. while big brakes do help with that, it is more of a concern for decreased brake fade.

and also, the bling bling factor (a very expensive one in the case of brakes) ;)

if decreased brake fade is your concern let me ask you this: have you been able to fade your stock brakes on the street? i know a few of our memebers have been to some track events and have reported that they have experienced almost zero fade even under track conditions. the rx-8's brakes are just as good as its handling, and thats saying alot.

about the bling bling factor......no one can deny that big brake kits look BADASS behind some nice wheels, or probably even behind the stock 18"s. like SCC once said, its like 'jewelry on a thugged out gangsta.'

Look for posts by forum member Brian Goodwin - he runs an aftermarket shop named Good-Win Racing (at www.good-win-racing.com ), and knows what to look for. He was at SEMA, looking at new bits for RX-8s, and his focus is performance, not bling. He's looking for lighter weight, less fade, and good balance (many big brake kits that just do the fronts end up with worse performance do to poor front/rear balance). I know he posted a few comments about big brake kits for the RX-8.

Rotora www.rotora.com has made a big brake kit. It was on Tom's (Team Hybrid/Hookup Store) RX-8 - TiSilver Mazdaspeed ACE wheels... at SEMA. He received the first kit. I am supposed to receive the second set from Japan. Basically the details are - Upgraded 6-Piston Calipers. 335 or 355 mm (dont remember sorry) Rotors that are cross drilled/slotted. I think also Ceramic brake pads - I am not totally sure. But once I get them I will definately show you guys.
