where can i get an intake manifold gasket?
one of those plastic ones (or plastic type material) to reduce heat?
im going to make a custom intake manifold, and need to get a flange made to start. so i need something to go off of...

Where will you be getting your cool intake air from...under the hood?

cool as "thats cool"...or cool as in cold air intake???

I mean that if you are getting your air from under the hood it will be 10-15 deg F warmer then where Mazda gets it and you will lose HP but gain noise.

If you find some material let me know---i am thinking the same.
Are you going the equal runner route? going to just a 4 port? I have done some work on the oem one and since i am s/ced i am beginning to think that all the valves in this manifold is not really required any longer. I may be wrong but we will see.
I do wish the exhaust ports would match the header, i also wish we had better exhaust sleeves.

i beleive what your looking for is an intake manifold "spacer"
so it wont make contact with the hot engine under it, that way there is no heat transfer

im not using the stock one at all. im using a set of gsxr ITB's. im leaving the ports stock (4 port) to see what it will make like that first.
then i will be porting it to see what advantage my port work will make...

i have a stock gasket now, i just didnt want to buy one from mazda. a used one is fine. just need to give it to a maching shop so they can make the flange...
