Well, it's new to me. Perhaps you guys have already heard this; I haven't been keeping up with discussions here. Anyway...

Just got off the phone with our salesman at Mazda South here in Austin - I've had my name on their list since they started it around the middle of the year.

Apparently they're getting 12 from the first allocation. Pricing information will be released at the time of the auto show - Jan 8. After the 8th, you'll be able to go online and spec out your car, or go to the dealer and have them do it for you. You'll be able to make changes up until March; building begins in April, and the cars are to be delivered in June. :D

Apologies if this is all old news to y'all. Just excited to finally get some solid information from the dealer. :)

Yellow for me, too, as long as it's Vivid Yellow and not that nasty "Mustard Mica" that they used on the 2002SE Miata.

Don't know how you're expecting to take delivery in March, though, if they're not even starting production until April.

I ordered my WRX from the web on January 10, after the NAIAS, took delivery on March 12. Why would it be longer for the RX8? There are 50+ RX8s in California for testing (as posted else where). Would they start the line for 50, then dismantle the line? I am still hoping for March delivery for the first orders. January 8th I will be ordering mine.

I don't know where the WRX was built but being that they are built elsewhere and aren't a completely new car. I would think that a production line for a WRX could be up and running much faster than an 8 with is a completely new car.
