Actually the biggest factor is the driver but seeing how you've posted such a lame message, I think the race is up for grabs.

who cares... hopefully it won't end in a deadly flaming car crash...

I mean go ahead and race but don't talk about that crap here. I actually like that this board doesn't get into stupid discussions like the one you are trying to start.

All this hear say stuff is just crap. The real information is gained from the guys running autox and doing controlled tests. Not the 2f2f crap that this thread smells of..

I don't think he'll ever come back to talk to us. This was his first post and looked what happened? Someone flamed him already... Ouch...

Damn!!! I'm pretty sure you scared him into the corner..Geez...lol

But I must agee. I am copletely against street racing. Your gonna kill yourself, or some innocent person. If you wan't to test your car's limits, as well as your own driving ability, take it to a track. Almost every major city has something arranged so that car lovers can go and play. Wether it's a real track for straightaways and speed, or an empty lot set up w/cones for twisties and skill. Just look around. It's alot safer, having rules, dedicated run times, off duty ems personnel, etc.
So go play. But do it safely in a controlled enviornment.

Are you gonna play Rage Against the Machine while you drive? You should make sure the camera is set on a crane, centered behind the two cars, and the crane lifts up when you both take off. Try to get some nice closeup shots of each of you shifting!

Your nose must be more sensitve than mine. I didn't see "street race" in the OP.

But you're right, the best driver will win and it won't mean much unless they switch cars and try again.

Hello All,

Anybody that has read any my posts pretty much knows I take the time and effort to reply in a responsible and courteous way. I don't know what happened above; I guess it had something to do with a friend coming over to visit last night and also wanting to maintain the great standards of this board. There’s REAL and valuable information to be had here but with 5500 board members it would be a shame to let it slip to the infantile discussions which are so common on other boards.

So, I'm sorry I "tee'ed" off on that guy given it was one of his first posts. I don't think my response was called for, nor am I good at it (there's a bunch of other guys on this board that are much better at cutting someone to the quick).

Anyway, I drive my car hard and suffered some close calls (and minor damage) of which I mentioned one story. But I've come to realize that crap (kill posts, street racing) is neither relevant or informative and would bury or overshadow the better information that gets posted here. So salpinx, come back and post I'm not the guy you need to worry about here, I'm pretty harmless. :)

That's why we decided not to have a "kills" forum a year ago. :)

Well assuming that it is a straight line street race that is being referred to the S4 will destroy the RX-8. Having owned both the S4 is substantially faster. It will not corner as well but in a striaght line the S4 will win by a few car lengths.
